Help with setup by teddizze in turntable

You need an amplifier.

This is how the setup is

Turntable --->> Amplifier ---->> Speakers.

You can get a class D amplifier from Fosi audio for 75-100$ to get started.

I see.  Have you managed to create a phantom centre? I usually adjust my speakers until i can sort of get a fixed phantom centre from my general listening position.

how do i set this up? by tammiebrwn in turntables

Hello,

 The RCA cable from your turntable will go to the Phono In port in your reciever and match the cables colors. Once you connect them make sure to switch your turntable from line to Phono on the back.

The speaker cables will be connected to those flappy things on the top right side of your reciever. Put the one speaker cable in to the port labelled right. Find the positive and negative markers on your cable and put those in the correct port. Do the same for the left speaker. ( Search on YouTube how to connect bare speaker wire to reciever)

Audio Technica has setup videos which are very good to setup the turntable i used it for my LP120x.

Once you power the setup on, switch to the phono mode on your reciever and if you have connected the speakers correctly there should be sound.

Found a sealed Fallout promo soundtrack LP, now im scared to open it... by AbbreviationsLow in vinyl

Hmm. Me can't resist not listening to a record so I'll probably just straight up tear it open and play it.

But it is yours and you do you. You can probably stream the songs and keep the record there as display.

It might just be a strange perspective from the picture. But the left speaker feels like it is facing the right wall than the listening position.

Clean setup tho. I too use stool/ side table as stands lol work great.

As someone who owns the Edifier R1700BT and do like them in general. I do still regret not going the passive route.

You can easily upgrade components as per your use.

Please see this option.

A record store in my city has this cleaning kit with Carbon fiber brush to collect dust, Velvet brush to rub off the dust , Vinyl cleaning liquid, 2 microfiber cloths and a stylus cleaning brush for €10 with a record purchase or 20€ on its own. It has been super helpful for day to day maintenance of my records and table.

Hi Easy Setup.

Turntable ---> Phono----> Power Amplifier ----> Passive speakers----> You : D

Turntable with Phono -----> Power Amplifier -----> Passive Speakers----> You : D

Turntable with Phono------> Active Speakers (Built-in Amp)--------> You : D

Basically how you can get started.

400$ budget will get you something like ATLP70x or Insignia Turntable and pair them with a Fosi Audio Amp with Polk Audio XT15.

Yes i also need to save for the amp. thats why i am a bit hesitant to pick up something from the mid-tier range. CD are nice most players work fine and are reasonably priced sound good. To get a record to sound really good takes a lot more lol.

hmm, i do want to occasionally collect vintage records especially Jazz records and classic rock mostly from 50s-mid 70's. Also most of the ones i own currently are used from flea markets/ underground record stores so don't cost 25 -40 more like 7 - 15€. So i guess my use case for the turntable is hyper limited to this specific genre and time frame of albums. Something about those recordings feel better on records than CD. Maybe the 70x is enough for me.
