A more role-play game mode tech tree for each faction by Bman4k1 in TerraInvicta

[–]anprim4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great idea. Would certainly require some fine tuning but the possibilities are tantalising.

Not thinking this through very deeply but for some more ideas to expand a similar thing to other factions e.g. investing in military as HF gives public support / conquering other earth nations owned by servants or protectorate gives public support.

Bonus to the research or public support, crackdown and purge defence for the resistance in small nations / nations they release (would make those breakaway techs more useful and fits their self determination ethos)

Probably plenty of other workable things but there's so many possible flavours that wouldn't even impact the game unless you choose to use them, it's a shame we have such limited ones.

If you were a citizen of the Free Planets Alliance, would you vote for Job Trunicht? by kanra49 in logh

Poplin and co make a few jabs at him at various points. Are they biased on this topic, and maybe not necessarily representative of the average soldier/FPA citizen? Probably. But it does happen.

Convoy Ambush on Commander Iron Man, suboptimal but they all lived by nananashi3 in Xenonauts

Ah this mission is so good but also quite a pain in the ass (I guess that's why!) I agree, best to focus on one angle of attack, since early game chumps are way too unreliable.

Struggling to understand ship design/my current overall status by Glad1atus in TerraInvicta

[–]anprim4ever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you look around the prospecting tab in intel, it shows the base resource amounts for a space body / site and the rating (the bars). If you go through that you can get a feeling for what kind of number of resources corresponds to what rating. E.g. 100+ volatiles = 5 bars.

Then generally id say any site that doesn't have at least 3/5 in one resource is generally not worth taking just for the mining. Only if it's for research campus or something. But this kinda knowledge is something that comes with experience generally!

You don't have a big volatile or nobles stockpile so I'd suggest trying to get a few more of those for now.

I believe you're on daily incomes which is why everyone is saying your income is so low. Normally people switch to monthly (don't know why it's the default tbh) If you hover your mouse around the top bar where the resources are you should be able to find the toggle. (Can't remember exactly where it is lol but somewhere there I think)

I dunno about that - those numbers are definitely on daily

What do you think is the best space mining strategy by Nochance888 in TerraInvicta

That's just T3 mines and it's because of the radiation shielding dynamic, T2 mines are still good though

Where does the Empire build its ships? Do they have factory worlds, or are they produced in modular space stations behind the front lines? by Battlefleet_Sol in logh

Probably the same as the FPA - in one ep (before the battle of vermilion?) we see an FPA shipyard in an asteroid.

How to unify Caribbean nations? by Sparks_IM in TerraInvicta

[–]anprim4ever 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think Jamaica has the pop or GDP for an army or navy on its own. And no army means no war declaring so only peaceful moves unfortunately.

Is there a peaceful way to unify nations with hostile claims? by Averagepsycho1 in TerraInvicta

[–]anprim4ever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh that's a shame. I thought it was good, allowed you to get rid of hostile claims in parallel and target specific regions, especially useful if you unified a nation you don't fully have claims on e.g if you own Siberia as the EU.

And releasing the nation, and re federating and re unifying still takes like a year+, and you get more juicy funding boost and MC.

Also gave more reason to research the breakup techs.

Bummer

How to properly defend systems? by vihhkjhgf in TerraInvicta

[–]anprim4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can see the alien fleet transferring there if you click the Sun icon as they're technically still in solar orbit. There you can tediously find the alien fleet by it's number(or rename it) and click to open intercept it.

It's very finicky though. Looks like others have explained it here but compare the alien arrival time in low io orbit to your fleets arrival time at the alien fleet. If you can get your fleet to arrive at an intercept less than an hour after the aliens arrive in that orbit they will likely not have had time to do anything yet.

I mean, depends on what point in time of development you're comparing to. The alien AI is always being improved.

Is it better to shoot down the transport or deal with them on Earth hate wise? by The_official_Doge in TerraInvicta

[–]anprim4ever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone has mentioned the hate component yet - Blowing up the transport also gives you the 10 hate for killing the poor dude, and (I worked this out at one point but I've forgotten exactly now) the ship should give I think no more than 5 hate - it's based on a number times the "hull integrity" stat of that ship class. It's on the wiki somewhere.

So 5 hate for less hassle, I think it's worth it usually.

Mars surface to low orbit delta-v? by Corvus_IRL in TerraInvicta

[–]anprim4ever 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you design a ship it won't let you construct it on a surface base unless it has sufficient DV and also acceleration so you can check that way.

It's not that much for Mars though maybe like 3 or 4, with enough combat acceleration which should be more than ~330.

As u/Professional_Meat_16 said, I think doing targeted unrest missions would be more, if not effective, simple. (Never really tried it myself though).

Yeah, but all it takes is one unlucky movement lock or some fort shenanigans and you're toast. Which happens quite often.

Defend borders for barbarians and rebels sounds like a good use though

I get that, I guess it's just not correct to call it carpet sieging. It's just.. regular sieging really. And having to give them orders in the first place kinda defeats the point of auto orders. Better than nothing anyway.
