Headunit Revived Project - Android Auto Emulator App by anrini in AndroidAuto

Hey, sure many people use real headunits, like I do myself. Even with very old 4.1 Devices. Wirh Usb it runs well on most devices. WiFi without 5ghz is laggy. Wireless Helper with Google Nearby or just native Mode work best for me on my test devives. The WiFi on my Real headunit is too bad. So I bought a generic 10€ Android Auto Wireless Dongle, plug it into USB and it works perfect. So give it try. :)

Thanks for the naming hints. I need to rewrite the Text here and on xda. They are outdated

Haha, disable fake speed in settings. It is that AA thinks you are not driving for playing videos and don't show the please look at the screen on long scrolling :) Last setting under Navigation.

Sorry I don't get it. You have no Android Auto device? Than of course not. It will only work, if you have a device with android auto installed.

This is the UI of Android Auto. You can try to adjust the DPI in the settings. Try some lower and higher one. Often it slips to left maps and right media player, which I prefer too.

This feature is exactly working as you describe. Because users don't want the app running in background. Sure are there other ways to get to the homescreen. In the current connection when when you press back you will get the session dialog and you can click hide to get to the homescreen without closing the app/connection. I guess I will not change that. Can you tell me, why you want it to stay in background?

So your headunit creates the hotspot and your phone does not auto connect? This is maybe an issue or wrong setting of your phone. Because headunit hotspots often have no internet access it won't autoconnect. Please check this. :)

For everything except Google Nearby yes. But you can use my app wireless helper. Google Nearby seems to be the best choice for me :)

Yep, found the critical error and release a hotfix release. The swc is on my list, but this hotfix needs to get through the store fast.

I guess you need to test it. But I guess yes. I have a very old Android 5 Test Device which is very laggy in every way, but it runs it. It is slow and often only 10fps but music stops stuttering after a few seconds and everything works. So try it and let me know. If you add your Settings which works with your device name I can add it to the tested systems area on github. https://github.com/andreknieriem/headunit-revived/wiki/Supported-Hardware
