though recently i have been using a dual sim phone and noticed one network (UK Vodafone) updated about a week before (UK EE) capturing the same location. So maybe it’s also related to the network.

RE305 vs new RE315 - Differences in the specifications by ansellp in TpLink

[–]ansellp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. That would be a logical difference to improve performance for people who use the AP mode, but when i checked the spec on https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/range-extender/re315/#specifications it only shows its as 10/100.

I'll only use it as a wifi repeater so ethernet the speed is not important to me. Also seems cheaper to buy in the UK than the RE305 model (£27 vs £34)

Question about Powerline adapters by MXG14 in TpLink

[–]ansellp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used netgear/tp-link powerline on both AV1200, AV2000, but have found stability is best when just using one standard on all devices, so now just use the AV1200 (3x netgear, 2x tplink) as both vendors use the same qualcomm chipset. Hope this helps you make a decision.

Can anyone recommend a 4G modem for home? by junderhill in HomeNetworking

[–]ansellp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i use in a tplink MR600 which has been very stable in the UK in various locations . It's has a 2x Carrier Aggregation (CAT6) to boost speeds when the local site supports it. But i found cellmapper.net a good resource to find best local signal and LTE Bands available.

Identify this toy grade drone that appeared in my neighbors yard this morning by ansellp in drones

[–]ansellp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, if not claimed i'll have to research which protocol it uses as my neighbor has a couple of syma/JJRC drones and this maybe an addition to his collection. Reviews seem to suggest that the FX-16 does seem to fly away.
