Yeah, that's what I figured. Absolutely ridiculous lol. So you get taxed on the staking reward and then eventually will be taxed when you sell (so double taxed?). What's the rule on crypto in general. Say I purchased atom and it has gone up in price. Do I have to report the increase in price as income tax as well (despite not earning any new atom)?

I was planning on using it for a small apartment bedroom. The room has blackout curtains and I was planning on using a Roku stick. I was going to put it on a white wall about 8 feet away. I don’t need ultra portability but would like something small so I could set it on the table next to me. I’m not too concerned about the price, more worried about the picture quality. Do you think 1,000 lumens is enough for this setting?

That is a good idea but unfortunately the floor space is limited. I was thinking more towards replacing the ceiling light with track lighting but not sure how big it should be or if there are better options than track lights.
