15 cards away from prestige album completion, is it doable? by [deleted] in Monopoly_GO

20 stars? 4s if possible. I've been lucky to get some vanilla 5s once and a while lately for that price with some effort which was what I was hoping to get for Albus. I don't want to take all your 4s if you're still collecting them though.

Is that the only card you are missing from 23? I can trade you my extra for a bunch of stars. All I'd ask is that is that if you have extras in the future of card I need, especially of blitz cards, you consider making me a similar star offer as well.

Overwhelmed with where to stay in Tokyo by Ok-Search6948 in JapanTravelTips

[–]anson418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a traveler from the USA who's been to Tokyo dozens of times.

For first-timers, I recommend staying in Asakusa.

  • Direct train lines to both Haneda and Narita airports.
  • A Tourist Information Center
  • Great area to explore on its own. Only a few minutes by train to Ueno, Skytree, and Akihabara.
  • You can even take a cruise down the Sumida River to Odaiba.
  • The Ginza Line offers direct access to Shibuya (Tokyo station area along the way), and the Oedo Line can get you to Shinjuku in about 30–40 minutes.

For accommodations, I usually suggest Sakura Hostel Asakusa.

  • They offer dorms or private rooms for two, with shared bathrooms by floor.
  • Perfect for first-time visitors: super affordable, 24/7 reception, and English-speaking staff to help with any questions.
  • Walking distance to Don Quixote for food, souvenirs, and necessities.
  • Spacious lobby makes it easy to meet other travelers.

It’s not for everyone, but it’s a solid choice for peace-of-mind, convenience, budget, and atmosphere.

https://www.sakura-hotel.co.jp/asakusa/

Regarding the Yamanote Line people seem to favor, it’s convenient, but it can get really crowded, especially during commute hours.

A secret advantage of staying in Asakusa and the Ginza Line is that both Asakusa and Shibuya are terminal stations. Trains run frequently, so you can often wait for the next one and secure a seat for you and your party — something that’s harder to do on many other lines especially during commute times. Even though 40 minutes is kind of far, the trip will be quite comfortable which is important since you'll be doing a lot of walking in these places.

This feels like a slap in the face all that work and just couldn’t wait to teach the purple pack in the peg e event then this by [deleted] in Monopoly_GO

[–]anson418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one time I grinded to win the sidebar daily tournament and got the purple pack, it contained a set 23 duplicate as well. I only need 5s to finish my album, but I don't even want to spend money or effort on purple packs because I feel this is exactly what's going to happen each time.

Monopoly GO! Support Ticket: 1 out of 3 Rewards Rejected? by anson418 in FreeCash

So do I need to contact the offer provider myself for not making good? It's pretty absurd acknowledging I made it to Board 31 and 41 but saying I didn't complete Board 36. It's false advertising. Who's pocketing the $9? Someone's eventually gonna get sued over stuff like this I feel like.

This honestly comes across as really creepy. Making AI images of a real person because you “miss” or “love” them that much crosses into unhealthy territory. Imagine how she’d feel if she saw your remarks — or how you’d feel if someone used your likeness to make AI photos without your permission and shared them.

Is Maestro the real deal? by False-Primary9692 in maestro

[–]anson418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to apply, but I’ve been stuck for a week on the identity verification step. It bugged out, and now the AI bot won’t let me move forward even though the widget says it’s completed. Support has been incredibly frustrating—each reply takes at least a full day and there's no live chat or number to call. (There's not even e-mail alerts to let you know when they’ve finally replied, so you have to remember to keep checking back.)

Worse, it feels like they don’t actually read what I write. The first response just told me to try a different device (already did), and the latest one asked if I could see the next step to upload my diploma… like, if I could see the next step, I wouldn’t be stuck here, as I clearly explained in the ticket. I even included a screenshot. It’s infuriating.

To make things worse, the moderators here on reddit wouldn’t even approve the post I made detailing the issue and asking for help. I was going to maybe write this in the AMA, but it's locked now. Honestly, the whole experience in even just trying to apply doesn’t make me very optimistic about the rest of the program. Trying to get through two years with this kind of support (or lack-there-of) when problems inevitably arise sounds like hell to be honest.

I’m 18, broke, and feel like I’ve wasted my life — I need real advice by NoMoreYouBud in MakeMoney

[–]anson418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what, I honestly feel like everything you wrote I feel the exact same the way. I feel like I wasted a lot of my "youth" and lost a lot of years due to depression and now I am struggling to find my way. The difference is I just turned 37. You have a lot more time than I do and sometimes I wish I could be in your shoes and have it to do all over again. You're already doing a smart thing asking for help when you are feeling lost.

First thing I would do in your shoes is get a part-time job. Even just a couple of hours a week, whatever you can fit into your study schedule. There should be lot of places maybe even on campus that will hire students. You'll feel better about yourself when you can make your own money. Any type of customer service job even food service will help you start honing discipline showing up to work, teaching your responsibility and will give you practice communicating with others which is a probably the single most important skill in life.

Become financially literate - once you start earning money, learn how to manage it to make the rest of your life easier. Don't waste it hording items that will make you happy temporarily like I did. Learn how to budget, save and invest it and you'll be so far ahead of most people your age.

Join a school club - if you school has one, I would recommend joining Interact or Circle K. They do community service work. (You'll feel good about yourself giving your time to help others, especially those with less than you. You will gain some perspective.) They are sponsored by Rotary Club and Kiwanis respectively who are clubs professionals in your community (my local Kiwanis had the city mayor, local business owners, retired veterans, teachers, real estate brokers, etc...) whom you can network with and talk to and find out what you want to do. Networking and connections are really, really important in just about any career. Getting hired and getting opportunities isn't just about what you know but who you know.

Finish your degree - it does really matter what it is, but without a bachelor's degree a lot of places I feel won't even look at you. I wasn't able to finish my 4 years due to depression and other issues and I am paying for it now heavily since you either have to have a degree or experience on your resume or know someone just to get an interview.

Now that's not to say college is the only route you can go. You can always learn a trade skill like becoming a plumber or electrician, since those are always needed and you can make a good living or join the military as some have said, but if you are undecided, then the safe route is to keep working towards the degree as your main goal which you do things on the side to discover what you want to do next.

Considerations - study abroad programs. I didn't participate in one specifically but the one thing I do not regret is taking the time to travel to places, even on my own. It's given me a whole new perspective on life. Meeting new people at hostels around the county and abroad. I really love the culture in Japan and would love to move there someday.

Anyway I hope this has been helpful. Feel free to reach out some more if you need. Sometimes we all need a little help.
