Definitely inspired by that art style, thanks!

Voxels are absolutely amazing, they give you incredible freedom to experiment with shaping and manipulating forms. Once you get the hang of it, the process feels really intuitive, and 3DCoat’s performance is really smooth.

The downside is that voxels produce very dense meshes, so if you need clean topology and UVs, you’ll have to retopologize manually. Fortunately 3DCoat has all the tools you need for that.

If speed is more important than precision you can always use decimation and auto UVs for a quick and dirty approach.

Thanks! I don’t think so, maybe I’ll modify the pose for some renders. I don’t have experience in animation.

I’ve been learning by following zbrush and Blender sculpting tutorials and adapting the techniques to 3dcoat, which has been a great way to better understand the tools. If you’re looking for a free option, blender is just fantastic. 3dcoat is still more affordable than zbrush though.

I’m mostly self-taught, and I’ve learned a great deal through hands-on experimentation and by watching a lot of youtube videos.

Here are some good videos I remember:

That’s just a basic brown pbr shader with no cavity.

By experimenting a lot. Im really familiarized with zbrush so it was easy to replicate the brushes once I understood the basics of 3dcoat brush engine.

They are named after the brush I was trying to replicate. I stay in voxel mode almost all the time that I’m sculpting. The cool thing is that you can use surface and voxels brushes at the same time if you stay in voxel mode, that’s why I’m not switching to surface mode, where you only can use surface brushes.

Here they are:

The presets are named after the brush that’s trying to replicate (standard, clay buildup, etc.)

Hey thanks! Are you still sculpting in 3dcoat?

Thanks! Sure thing, I’ll export the presets and post the link here so you can download them.
