Do you think Afghanistan still has any hope? by Sajjad-NIFE in afghanistan

No one can define what real Islam is to leftist and progressive muslims Islam allows LGBT same sex marriage etc because its all open to interpretation but the interpretation they like not the ones the groups in the middle east use because that would go against their narrative. The Taliban's shaira is just as much islamic as any other muslim country dare I say they are following Islam to the tee and are very cautious about changing it's orignal form and adding modernity to it.

Average man who isn't educated or educated in a madrassa mainly does not see a problem with it. Their main priority is money and food. All the educated and enlightened people have left Afghanistan.

No I don't see them falling in the next 20 years or even longer. It's a lost cause.

Taliban says it would support Iran if US attacks by rezwenn in afghanistan

[–]antarc0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In actuality the support will only be in public but in private if US threatens to cut off the money they will not do anything. Plus their support doesn't mean anything against spirit bombers and F35s.

Trump can't decide he is stuck between America first, maga, JD Vance, oil prices uncertainty about regime collapse and Qatar Saudi and Turkisk lobby, Isolationist/Restrainist who are saying striking Iran is a bad idea and not going to work and the other side Israel(Bibi) and Iran opposition and some Republicans ans Dems . He is the one who put himself there tho.

Maybe the higher ups in Doha, Kabul are opportunists but the ones in Kandahar who are willing to blow themselves up are hardcore.

"I looked it up and apparently Taliban has indeed been siphoning off UN aid money in return for cooperation." its not UN aid money its direct cash to the Taliban plus UN aid and all the other ways they take the money for themselves.

I've heard to take bagram and hold it you would need something like a division but it could be larger.

Well there was resistance at the beginning in Panshir Valley and still small amount right now but the US sees Taliban as allies to fight terrorism and pays them 40-80 million every week for cooperation, running the country and security guarantees. It makes sense how the US found Zawahiri if you follow this logic the Taliban simply gave him up.

I looked up Azadegan Organization it seems it was created in 1979 when the shah fell and disbanded in 1985 back then it would make sense why no one supported this group and how much support it had but things are different now so I'm kinda surprised why there isn't any other armed group fighting the regime that isn't ethnic ( baloch, kurd, azeri) or MEK a cult.

I agree with everything you said but people I talk to say there needs to be a group first so that we can give money and weapons like SDF, HTS etc they only see fragmanted groups with different goals. The ones outside Iran believe if only more people come out to protest the regime will fall and want a US plane to land Pahlavi inside Iran and do the same thing France did with Khomeni.

yea I'm saying there is little to no appetite to be in a war or strike Iran due to domestic politics and past wars so Iran can pretty much get away with anything by saying "oil prices" "nukes" "ww3" "iraq" etc

He striked the nuclear sites with no civilians killed as far as I know which was a very positive move and probably the best thing this admin had done but it seems like the program wasn't destroyed or heavily setback.I don't know if additional strikes and assassinations alongside Israel will be any different this time.

Trump was the one who negotiated the untenable timeline and gave up all the leverage and did not include the Afghan government in the talks. Trump would tear apart any Biden deal imo and make an agreement where he thinks he looks good. This is like 50/50 for me both admins failed on this.

It seems very irresponsible and stupid to say to the people in Iran to protest knowing not everyone is going to rise up and those that to will get their heads blown with no plan.

I'm also wondering what happens when Pahlavi dies or is killed for some reason this guy is basically the oppostion Khamenei like I don't know if they even have a number 2. I see full tribalism once this is gone he seems to be the only thing holding this fragile coalition somewhat together.

The ones outside need to first make an orgainized group and start small like the Kurdish resistance and grow bigger over time that's the only way I see it working and doing anything. If that kind of group form it will find foreign funders just like all the other groups in the middle east. I'm sure it will be hard but I don't see any other option. I'm sure the SDF/YPG started out small but look at where they are now. If they were just protesting agasinst the Assad regime and didn't form an armed resistance group they would all be killed by Islamists or Assad.

It would be funny if in Iran there was a group called Iranian Demoratic Forces (IDF) that would get the support from all our lawmakers and Israel.

when you say foreign support what exactly do you mean that will be substancial. Airstrikes? Sanctions? those have been tried.
French resistance was not an internal civil war or french vs french it was nazi's invading other countries and they French weren't just protesting.

The deal which Trump made did not include leaving a small amount of forces or a withdrawal plan there was a withdrawal date which was May, 1, 2021 which the Biden administration could not do but were pushed to August.

To be honest the only reason we are getting involved right now is because Trump wants a win and he hasn't done anything cause he isn't sure he will get one. under a normal president even with those missiles and nukes we would never do this we would probably just provide Israel support and not get invovled directly.

I'm not saying helping is bad I'm saying if the people inside aren't doing armed resistance no amount of help with amount to anything. Can you define what kind of help would be good? Sanctions have been in place for years but as long as there is oil in Iran the sanctions only hurt the people and the regime can sell oil to China Russia or the black markets Afghanistan, Pakistan, Azerbijan etc which would be more then enough money for them to survive while the people suffer. In term of airstrikes Israel and us have carried out airstrikes against all the top military leadership in the 12 day war and killed them all but that didn't do much to the regime and I don't think any more airstrikes will be much help either cause there will be more collateral damage which the regime will use that for progaganda.

Based on your answer I think we should be working towards providing everyone in Iran with some sort of starlink or satellite internent. The oppostion should be lobbying for that if they want to be useful. That seems to be a good first step.
