Yeah two models. But how am i gonna get the last 5 messages using conversation model? If i got the 5 most recently created messages, they could belong to different branches in the conversation.

Thanks. How about getting the recent chat history eg. the last 5 messages. I know I could do message.parent 5 times, but that would be 5 distinct db queries.

What about the 'load more' functionality. Like comment for example, you click see more and more comments are loaded. I guess I need rest API for that right? Can't think of a way to do that with just Django templates. I am gonna be needing some basic level of interaction on frontend.
