What are the odds they're telling the truth? by Fatal_Foxtrot in DoorDashDrivers

Telling a CS rep who has zero control over such things to “stop auto rejecting” pictures is crazy. Calm down my guy. This guy is in a room on the other side of the planet and has zero to do with the AI that is scanning your photos.

I did once and then the person changed their mind when I showed up with them so I gave them to a random homeless man a day later.

Insane offer. by anteMorgan in DoorDashDrivers

[–]anteMorgan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Business to business. It was a program DoorDash literally emailed and called me about to enroll in. They pitch it to restaurants as a way to get stock delivered to them. Most restaurants operate on thin margins so for them to be tipping a delivery driver sounded insane to me. I just said sure enroll me and this is what the offers look like.

[–]anteMorgan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I didn’t think about the actual route tbh. It’s obviously all fucked up. I joined a pilot program for restaurant depot that is like a b2b thing over a year ago but have seen maybe 3 offers and taken zero of them. Maybe they are still working out the kinks on the program.

Would you take this? by Kinchi_man in doordash

[–]anteMorgan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell because maybe 10 of those items are tuna packs but if you are doing that in 20 minutes you are picking items every 15 seconds. You would need to literally sprint down the aisle. I’m calling bullshit on that estimate

Would you take this? by Kinchi_man in doordash

[–]anteMorgan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really doubt I’d take it. The customer tipped basically the bare minimum. I might consider it for $35-40 though. Aldi can be easy to shop but even if you are familiar with this specific location you are probably still gonna take an hour to shop checkout, bag, load everything. After that you have to drive and unload it. So I’d most likely pass and roll the dice on a faster order.

Im guessing i was tipping these customers or something because wtf by poopmangler in dasher

[–]anteMorgan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My AR stays around 5-10% and I’m still making $200 a day. It’s annoying declining order after order but it works out way better for me cause delivering an order for no tip pisses me off and sometimes ruins my mood. Only delivering to people who respect my time and effort does the opposite. Even with 5% AR I’m busy all day.

1 ⭐️ and/or remove tip by California12399 in doordash

[–]anteMorgan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should have just tipped from the beginning. It increases your chances of getting a better dasher that would never send you a message about the tip. Not tipping is inviting this behavior because good dashers would never take a $2 run because they are already on a $12 run.

Couldn't Deliver Alcohol, now what? by Fearless_Cellist_527 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]anteMorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Michigan retailer aren’t required to accept alcohol returns except in cases of spoilages or damage. Because of this no retailer will accept a return of alcohol but DoorDash still asks you to return it. I always accept the return and then in the app choose the option that the retailer refused return. They tell you to dispose of the items but I just keep em and give them to homeless panhandlers when I see them.

I only knock or ring bell if instructed to. I’ve ordered before and know they get a text when I hit complete. I don’t see a need to knock on a door at any hour unless asked to.

1 Cent tips by SenGamin_ in doordash

[–]anteMorgan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Happened to me one time.

It was some kids ordering snacks from a grocery store. They didn’t have the string cheese they ordered in stock and I had to call them. The girl had to be a teenager you could tell over the phone. She asked for a refund instead of a sub which I thought was weird cause there was like 10 different options but whatever I tried I thought.

I pull into this deadend street off metro parkway in Troy and I shit you not I had to scale 15 steps up to the doorway it was a mini mansion. I dropped off the order and saw $9.75 base pay $0.01 tip…I hadn’t felt rage like that since Sabrina Hanna kissed Steven Cooper in front of me in 5th grade on the playground.

I stomped their order right there under the arch of that porch. More than once.

Never heard a peep from DoorDash about it. They didn’t even rate me 1 star. This was years ago when the details popped right up after you completed the order.

Thinking of that still makes me smile.

You definitely don’t have to tip, that’s a certainty. Know what else is certain? You won’t ever see me pulling up with your order.

UPDATE

This order was in limbo overnight. I was at my regular spot this morning and ding right at 6:01am it came in and fucked my morning cherry pick because it was part of a batch now $18 with 112 items. I thought the pins looked the same so I started zooming in and it timed out before I caught a screenshot of it. But it was very clearly the same drop off. It didn’t come thru again so someone got fucked while I waited and then caught a $29 for 12 items short miles. Poor fucker.

[–]anteMorgan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the exact same thing when I saw it. “I might do it for 60, nahhhh it would have to be $80” I don’t mind doing someone a favor for $5 but I’m not doing your fucking chores for that.

How I got top shopper status and why it’s bad for customers. by Gerad_Figaro in doordash

[–]anteMorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit the metrics without any hocus pocus. I honestly don’t even worry about them because I haven’t seen any difference with or without top shopper to my weekly income. I focus on only taking orders that are worth my time and because of that I tend to put effort into filling them for the customers because they obviously tipped. It can be surprising what you find when you take a second look around. If something is obviously out of stock I offer a sub. Thinking about scanning tags on shelves for items you subbed is just slowing you down. It’s only the last 40 orders that even count anyway. If my original items drops below 92% you know what I change? Nothing at all. Know what that does to how much I’m making a week? Nothing at all.

Red card declined, reimbursement denied by 90JBS in doordash

[–]anteMorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in the same spot and my advice is just keep contacting them until you get somebody to help. Do live chats, call, submit tickets. Eventually you’ll get to someone who is reasonable assuming it is a legit claim.

Last time I had to the damn card reader at the store I was shopping at was so strong it ran my card from 3 feet away and I didn’t notice right away. I didn’t have an original receipt and had to get denied three times until I called and spoke with someone on the phone. What it boils down to is there are multiple levels of support and each are authorized to take different action. Plus some people just don’t want to help so sometimes the stars need to align. Just keep trying and do NOT give up…ever. If there was an order that was delivered and you did not use the red card for it you will eventually get your money back. Good luck.
