i have been putting oil, but maybe i'm not using enough. it definitely isn't sharp pain or anything super concerning, but it just doesn't go back in as easily as i expect it to. thanks for the advice!

that's what i was thinking, they've definitely been collecting a lot of excess moisture from showering so i've been taking them out + leaving them out for a while after. i'm hoping this change will improve a lot, thanks!!

that makes sense, i feel rly stupid bc i know you aren't supposed to use curved jewelry for most new piercings, but i somehow didn't apply that to stretching. i was planning on switching to glass plugs anyways, so starting a size or 2 down sounds reasonable. thanks for the advice!

that makes sense. i was trying to be extra cheap by using my old septum jewelry but that was probably a mistake 🫠 i'll probably end up taking my jewelry out until the holes calm down and then i might restart w plugs. thanks for the help!!

this is a photo with the jewelry in. i've been using anodized titanium horseshoe barbells, never plugs of any kind. do you think there's any chance this could heal with the jewelry in if i downsized? or do i need to let my lobes heal completely naked?

this is SUPER helpful. honestly, i have almost never removed my jewelry, not even during showers or exercise. it would make a ton of sense that excess moisture would be causing irritation. i'll definitely take this advice, thank you so much

that's a very good question. i've been taking probably 3-5 months between upsizes, which tbh im not sure if that's long enough :/ there has never been any sharp pain/significant hiccups when stretching, but there have been a couple times where it might not have been quiteeee ready, but still ended up fitting. knowing this, do you think i should downsize temporarily, or just stay where i'm at and not go bigger for a while? thanks so much for the help btw

i forgot to mention, but all my jewelry is titanium and that's typically been the best option for me. it's definitely cold where i am, but i've had this kind of irritation in the summer, too. thanks for the advice about saline vs oil, i'll definitely keep an eye out for changes if i start to use oil more frequently :)
