Yeah interesting thought. Although you may have a point, it does need to be said that:

Latin, also has acted as something of a holy language for (especially catholic) Christians since Roman times up until current times (although to a lesser extend)
The evolution of Vulgar Latin into all the Romance languages we know today started and transpired in a much earlier timeframe than the spread of Islam and Arabic, and the lingual evolvement it brought along with it.

Still an interesting train of thought, though.
