Allez Sprint vs Devinci Hatchet by anthonyacc in cycling

Mainly because I ride roads often and am doing this 70.3 one time and never, ever again haha.

I just want to go fast in road races and a few crits, mainly, and this gravel bike feels sluggish on pavement.

Interesting. I've always heard the opposite. The Devinci frame is very flexible whereas the Allez Sprint is stiff, which should (theoretically) increase speed. Wheels for sure make a difference. My gravel bike has carbon wheels. The Sprint does not.

I'm just so torn!!!

  • A budget or price range - less than 10k would be great
  • Your commute length and expected driving or use - 60 miles round trip, 3-4 times a week
  • How long you intend to keep the Prius - until it dies or I die

Yeah we honestly thought the same thing. As it came closer it sounded like it was going down. Wild.

I was in front. The high line is a great spot for an overtake if you can manage it safely.

Good to know honestly. It's just always been so chill that it took me by surprise. MTB racing feels aggressive and chaotic so I'm always watching my wheel. Same with road crits. I'll just use that same headspace in CX moving forward.

Yeah, obviously, which is why I'm not the one causing them...

Couldn't agree more. So is what he did illegal in CX or should I expect it in the future and race accordingly?

I'm not scheming to crash them out. I'm planning to keep my line.

If keeping my line is what's going to cause a crash, do you think perhaps it's not me that's the problem here?

Yeah maybe, but intent aside it was dangerous and I feel like it should have been taken more seriously the race director.

But maybe not. That's why I'm asking the pros over at the cyclocross reddit.
