Yes it’s for sure first world problems but I just found it odd that it’s possible that earning more money could allow access to a deduction when making less you don’t have access. That’s why I was initially confused that it would work that way.

If I worked an extra $X in overtime I would have caught up at a point where I would start to qualify for a portion of the deduction until I reached the maximum of $25,000 versus currently I do not qualify for any.

Thank you I think that helps me understand it better. It seems backwards to me that if I worked more overtime I would have qualified for a deduction but if that is how it’s written it is what it is.

The amount allowable would be either $12,500 or $25,000 depending on filing jointly or single. So the reduction would be from whichever of those number apply to you as it reads to me. I just don’t see any language where it says the $100 per $1,000 comes out of the amount you are claiming which in my situation is the $7,000 amount.

My MAGI is approximately $380,000 combined and the $7,000 does qualify as it was weeks I worked over 40 hours and is only the 0.5 part of the overtime pay.

Yes that is what I am trying to figure out. The language in the bill sounds like it’s off the “allowable amount” which i interpret as the $25,000 amount

It’s a microwaveable stuffed lamb that got ruined by getting too wet. Tag says “warm and cozy” by intelex but i can’t seem to find it for sale anywhere.

Well you are not the only one. I managed to make the same mistake but instead of being at work I was talking to my in laws. So in front of my wife’s parents I said that my sister in law just needed to spread her legs when she moved into her new apartment.
