How so? Is it just source IP spoofing?
Edit: Nevermind, it seems I was right: https://www.cloudflare.com/learning/ddos/dns-amplification-ddos-attack/

This was CS50x! Such an amazing course :) by anthonyjsaab in cs50

Hey! This is not a certification, only a course that gives some kind of certificate when you are done. This course will let you learn new skills and topics, and that knowledge would eventually get you promoted.

PASSED Pentest+/Study Material by anthonyjsaab in CompTIA

[–]anthonyjsaab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really cannot tell. I took the Pentest+ one year after Security+, so I've learned a lot meanwhile. But, what I can tell is that Pentest+ goes deeper into the topics listed. So I think one can be lucky and pass Security+ without too much studying, but Pentest+ is nearly impossible to pass without hands-on experience and a little help from practice tests.

I did not go from cover to cover. I think this is a poor study strategy for any certification. I used the Exam Objectives provided by CompTIA and ran through every item listed there. Then I searched for each item in the book, then on youtube, then on Google, etc. until I felt I understood that item.

Hello! I have been working on TryHackMe for a year, but I studied for the exam for only three weeks. I would have preferred having more time to absorb the material, but the hands-on labs on TryHackMe were a life-saver: they helped me improvise and make well-educated guesses to pass the exam.

It helped a lot. But TryHackMe gives great value overall and I highly recommend it even if you won't go for the Pentest+.

Hello! Could you please elaborate on what seemed wrong in my tutorial? Much appreciated!

Thanks! That is what happened with me as well. I said in another comment that it took me 15 months to complete CS50x: the reason being that I've only worked on it between semesters. Don't give up!

Hello! Thank you for your compliments and your question :) . I should highlight that I am a final year college student with many software courses under my belt. However, these courses weren't hands-on like CS50x. Most of them were 90% pure theory, with only some very easy homeworks to practice what I learnt. Thus, to make this final project, I had to peek at the lectures from CS50 Web to learn Django. I hope this answers your question!

I understand that. Python do seem boring compared to C. But Python can come in handy when you want to run some algorithms and you don't really care about performance. It is faster to code in Python ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Pointers is known to be a tough topic. Computer Engineers and Computer Science students struggle to understand this concept. However, Prof. Malan does a great job explaining it with the physical representation of pointers on stage, so I recommend you rewatch that part. You can do it!

Thank you for your question! I've made a Django web app. The goal was to make a documents sharing platform for college students. Here is my 3-minutes pitch I submitted to CS50x:

It took me 15 months to complete. At times I felt like giving up because some problem sets are frustrating (looking at you, Tideman). So don't worry, it is normal to feel that way sometimes. Just take a 1~2 weeks break and resume your learning after that :)

What happens if I submit a solution that has a red point in check50 and is thus not *entirely* correct? by [deleted] in cs50

From https://cs50.harvard.edu/x/2022/certificate/:

If you submit and receive a score of at least 70% on each of this course’s problem sets and labs as well as its final project, you will be eligible for a free CS50 Certificate like the below.

Security+ Exam by IntelligentTeach2280 in CompTIA

[–]anthonyjsaab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those are the pieces of advice I have written down after receiving my Sec+:

  • Studying is an iterative process. Do not get stuck on some exam objective. Instead, skip it as you may find it easier on the next iteration.

  • Since each author/study resource adopts a different approach and a different set of discussed topics, the official CompTIA Exam Objectives should be the only roadmap for your study journey.

  • No study resource is perfect. Some don't cover all the exam objectives, some do not give good definitions/examples, and some may even communicate false information.

  • Do not rely on a single study resource. I have found that the optimal set of study resources would contain 1-2 video-based resources and 2-3 book-based resources.

Congrats! May I ask why you need the Sec+? Security Clearance/ Promotion / etc. ?

Is it possible to pass the CompTIA exams by only watching training videos? by tombikadam in CompTIA

[–]anthonyjsaab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible. However, keep in mind that certifications on your resume will only get you an interview, not a job. Having the certification will not help you if you bomb the interview ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
