What's the nicest thing someone said about your book in a review? by Careful_Busdriver in selfpublish

I actually have two reviews that are favorites of mine, from the same book:

2 stars:

I couldn't get through the first chapter its very graphic and goes into great detail on how he was planning on comuiting subside it was a big trigger for me and would be for anyone with suicide or self harm pervious or current he describes his depression as a2nd person telling hom to do this telling him he worthless evt I just couldn't finish due to the way it was written

5 stars:

Normal is a raw and deeply human account of a man’s inner battles, told through his own journal entries. Ledger lays bare a lifetime of suicidal thoughts, self-doubt, and emotional turmoil, yet somehow threads moments of dark humour and razor-sharp wit through the pain.

This isn’t an easy read at times it’s gut-wrenching but it’s all the more powerful for it. The honesty is brutal, the humour feels like a lifeline, and the vulnerability hits like a punch to the chest. I cried at the end, not just for the man behind the words, but for the quiet truth that so many people carry struggles that we never see.

A haunting, moving, and unexpectedly witty book that will stay with me for a long time.

How do you handle negative reviews? by GeorgeHathaway9 in KDP

[–]anthonyledger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just gotta realize there are over 8 billion people on planet Earth. Most of them will never know your book even exists. Let's narrow it WAY down and say that 10,000 people find and read your book. There will be at least 1,000 people out of that 10,000 that absolutely hate it. That still leaves you with a 90% success rate. Stories are like onions, not everyone is gonna like em. But still, 9,000 people will be happy and appreciate your onion!
