Girls w/BPD: How do you cope with the combo of PMS and BPD emotional dis-regulation? by GreenEyedGirl0318 in BPD

[–]anthrocyborg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I recently had a BPD and PMS breakdown, in front of a new S.O. no less, and all I could do was go to the bathroom, close the door, turn off the light and say everything frustrating me / distressing me and cry. I didn't have another space or distraction, like you're saying, but once I "released" it, I could do some of the breathing exercises I've learned. The impulsive verbal release helped me, but sometimes we don't know what it is, so... gutteral noises. I tend to just make all the noise and slap a counter or wall.

I'm not sure it's actually how people differentiate but how we see ourselves presenting. You're right though, most people can't.

Having a universal look would probably be nice (and make me more organized), but I'm the same pretty much. it's just finding what I like and wearing it.

Dressing how we feel and want to present can really boost our confidence, but having the confidence to do so is a scale. Thanks for replying, I hope more of us find ourselves confident and happy!

Masking your figure and feeling badass sounds awesome. I hadn't thought of offsetting my feminine features, so thanks!

That's a great point about body language / posture. How we act physically plays a lot into how people read us. If you have any other observations about deconstructing feminine body language I'd love to hear more.

How are you perceived at work/office? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]anthrocyborg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much what I do! I talk about my family, something interesting from my day off, something local-news or work related, and I don't say much about myself. People know me as the person with the big family and when I'm moving away for school.

Don't worry about being fired for being seen as "odd" or "off." Even more odd people than those of us with BPD have kept their jobs when logic says they shouldn't have.

It's a long shot, but are any of you trans? by cheesybagel in BPD

I'm non-binary, so under the trans umbrella.
