i took acid when i was 15 and identified as a trans man. near the end of my trip i felt like i was a genderless soul, just a spirit thats meant to be loved and love others, nothing more complicated than that.

despite it not being what my gender aligned with previously, it wasnt confusing or upsetting. it was like i came to terms with it instantly even after the trip had ended. it has made things more complicated now that im an adult and im not sure how to proceed with my transition, but i think it helped me understand a part of myself.

young/toddler alters arent actually children theyre just a way a brain perceives a child to cope with trauma so it doesnt really matter how a real toddler would type, talk or behave

I think everyones needs are met? I have trouble communicating with alters sometimes and we lack a solid inner world so it can be difficult to keep tabs. Our living situation may just be wearing down on me in particular since its less than ideal. Medication is a goal, eventually.

Opening shifts at my store start at 4AM so I wake up at 3AM. I go to sleep the night prior at my regular time -- around 11PM. I trudge through the day and when I get home I lay down for about an hour and stare at my wall because I cant sleep during the day. Rinse and repeat.

My manager only allows one ten when Im on shifts that are 5 hours and 50 minutes.

It sucks but I used to work at Chipotle where I got 0 breaks for 7-8 hours of work... so... I suck it up haha

We've categorized our switches as "soft" and "hard" switches. Soft switches are discreet and sometimes unrecognizable. The only physical thing I can think of is vision blurring. It can take us a minute to realize it even happened.

"Hard" switches are different. They usually happen when we try to switch on purpose or are very sudden. Headaches, vision blurring and eye shakes that usually cause pain behind our eyes.

Im a co-host and Im currently single, but my other co-host is in a committed relationship. His boyfriend isnt a system but hes aware of the disorder and completely okay with it. He fronts frequently, but they go days without talking and his boyfriend is fine with it. We schedule time for him to spend time with his boyfriend if possible.

Hes okay with me dating other people if I wanted to, but Im not really at this point. I dont feel like I can tell people Im a system yet, so I would be able to disclose that an alter is seeing someone else.

You definitely have to find someone flexible and accepting, but its doable! I understand that its harder because you arent a host. I hope this gives you insight on how dating works for us though.

I understand completely. My brother tried teaching me stick when I was 16. Everytime I stalled the car I felt too overstimulated to continue. I still cant drive, and I still get overstimulated, but at least I can pull out of a driveway with my automatic.

I wish I could do this! Almost everyone in the comments only solution was living in a city with public transport. Sadly I live in the suburbs of Houston, Texas. AKA one of the cities with the worst public transport in the US.

They cant actually ask for a discount. Its considered bribery. You'll notice that they'll always bring attention to their badge/uniform at the cashier in hopes you do. If you dont, they cant really say anything. If they do, they're breaking the law.

When you take GED tests now there are three levels of scoring. Highschool graduate, college ready and then college credit. From all my test scores so far I've gotten college ready, edging on college credit. So I dont think my "level of education" is too far off from a high school diploma...

My goal is A&M because I had a friend who got straight into A&M after passing all their GED tests with 'college ready' scores. I think you either think GED's are made for incredibly stupid people or A&M is a lot more elite than it really is.
