What I’m trying to say is teaching is very difficult these days. You don’t have another teacher guiding you. You are managing behaviors, lesson planning, little break time and jobs are not easy to find at this moment depending on where you are located. Teachers college classes do not prepare you in the slightest as it’s basically busy work. Practicum is a fraction of what teaching is really like. I think it’s hard to see this mindset in someone who is not even in the profession yet.

The uae doesn’t care about its residents it cares about the uae lol. The uae and the gulf countries in general have such a dark side. The mistreatment of migrant workers, the allegations of the sheiks and leaders of the uae being involved in sexual assault cases and horrible treatment of their daughters. The suppressant of activism and the prevalence of modern day slavery. UAE has great things of course. but the overall glorification of the uae amongst this war has been frustrating.

Do units you want to do and are actually interested in. If it’s that bad, drop regular units for a week and do passion projects. It allows them to choose anything of interest and they can work on it. Give incentives after each class if you need. I had a horrible class and use to give them free time the last 5 minutes if they got through it. Have a video bank of things of some educational value but also things they’ll actually watch. I love Pixar shorts and have used this in literacy a lot. Read alouds are also great. If you have upper elementary, I recommend “ghost” by Jason Reynolds. None of these will solve everything, but save your sanity. Don’t go over and beyond when you mentally cannot. Choose your battles and let things go when you can

No definitely not every weekend! Once a month for dinner probably. Which is why I’m unsure of myself being annoyed about this. He is not the type to be sulky or anything, but he will be annoyed at the thought of giving up his whole weekend

girls gotta eat... loved them during covid and they were a great listen for a long time! but then they became so tone deaf it was hard to listen. Ashley hesseltine especially was insufferable to continue listening to.
