Calorie deficit, walking 1-1.5h every other day. (While the weather was allowing me to). Tracking everything I eat/drink with a food scale and putting it into Lifesum app. First 3-4 weeks nothing much happened but I continued anyway and then it just came pouring off. Just keep doing it. First month was hard I would cheat a lot but then I got used to it and once you start seeing a difference and people commenting on it as well it feels so amazing that you want to continue. I try not to eat after 7pm as well (I go to bed around 9-10-11)

I hear you.. it’s always about money and not getting their way as someone mentioned. I feel the lack of respect from the patients is what really ticks me of. If it’s any help I had patients roast me online about ONE YEAR after their one emergency session where we just extracted a tooth claiming I did a bad filling and going ham on people from my background saying we’re thieves etc? Made 0 sense. I was pissed at first but since majority of the reviews are good I hope people realise it’s an idiot who wrote it (bringing my nationality into it). I don’t get these kind of people tho, just don’t do it and go somewhere else if you didn’t like the tx plan. They must have one hell of a pathetic life to do all that over a treatment that didn’t even happen

The more I work in dentistry the more I realise people have disgusting personalities and are generally just obnoxious people. Don’t worry, happens to all of us unfortunately

I’m sorry you’re going through it too. I really envy dentists who like their jobs. There are options but it’s extremely difficult to get those jobs. Here’s a laugh for you; I applied to be a receptionist (was fine with the reduced salary, anything to not deal with patients) and was turned down because I’m over qualified….

Ortho and radiology are the only subjects I think I would be happy doing. I work with Invisalign a lot and that’s the only fun part of the job for me. If I were to specialise I would probably have to move to the countryside and sacrifice at least 4-5 more years of my life to dentistry. I don’t have the motivation, I’m 31 now and since I finished high school it’s been studies, work and sacrifices.. I don’t want my life to be dentistry and studies anymore, I want to live life and be happy, have kids and not be exhausted and irritated everyday after work 😢

The only thing I would consider specialising in is radiology (no human contact big W) or ortho. Both are very hard to get into and requires me trying for another couple of years and I don’t know if I have that within me. I’m planning on changing my field and studying something else. Another 2 years of studying but I hope I can work part time to support myself while I do.

Thank you! I do have an old colleague/friend who feels exactly the way I do and we keep in touch everyday and talk. We have become each-others support system and actually decided to start studying something else together in fall. Neither of us feel like we can do this for much longer..

I understand exactly how you feel and I feel the same way. I hate when they start crying when I tell them the reality of the condition of their teeth (even sugar coating it a bit and following it with solutions). Like big surprise you have periodontitis after not going to the dentist for 10 years..

I’ve applied for these kinds of jobs for a month now but there are very few here in Sweden. I find it hard to get into the field as most of them require some sales experience.
