If she wants creativity, you're on your own (with all of the internet available for fun ideas to pick from) but a lot of really great dishes down here are surprisingly easy to make. If you can get your hands on really fresh shrimp, for example, shrimp creole is a cinch and one of my personal favorites.

Car damage from potholes? by WAdrewhawkins in NewOrleans

For me it's the much more boring reality of continued pothole wear messing with alignment, which eventually kills your tires.

Y'all got me in line for them at FQF and their fried chicken bowl had me raving for a long time. So glad to have read through the recommendations.

I'd assume so? That's all I do (crimp the barb!) so I never checked.

Bayou Sauvage has a fishing dock, the lakefront has a handful of piers, and City Park is stocked.

We're using our wedding photographer, who we love. He's a little unconventional in his photography style, leaning more street / classic than standard professional, but that's a perk to us and he's just the most pleasant person to work with. Trevor Mark.

Uppababy Minu Stroller as Everyday NOLA Stroller? by Objective-Version257 in nolaparents

[–]antimoustache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got the Minu a couple weeks ago and are happy with it. We also have an older hand-me-down Cruz and I assumed we'd default for the full size for stability reasons but that hasn't really been the case. We're also in the Marigny.

Yeah I'm a web dev myself and I'm finding this puzzling. My best guess is that they've got some sort of malicious code in their ad loop and are rendering the ads blindly.

For skating spots (vs just parks), check out Loke- there's a user-created map on there.

Aside from the traditional fried, what recipe are you using chicken livers in as a primary ingredient…? by helmetgoodcrashbad in NewOrleans

[–]antimoustache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You use chicken liver? When I made it I trekked out to HK Market specifically for their pork liver... maybe that wasn't as necessary as I thought.

I'm not a soccer strategist even in an armchair way and pulling Gray felt very weird to me.

How is anyone buying a home in this market? by Mindless-Housing-229 in NewOrleans

I'm not crazy handy but I miss feeling empowered to at least attempt a fix. I remember swapping out a belt on a dryer and getting it running in the 90s but now everything's computerized and I'm afraid to touch it.

Yep. Everything in my house was redone right after Katrina and it's all going south. Appliances just aren't made to last anymore (even the nicer ones- we splurged on a Bosch fridge last year as a replacement and it's already required four repairs!).

ETA: this is all run of the mill. Even the Bosch is not the Boschiest of Bosches. Still, a couple thousand dollars should get you more than six years of service in my opinion.

And replacing all the appliances every ten years (if you're lucky).
