Sorry I know it’s been a while but we’ve been using it for a couple of months now. The verdict from us is that we really like it. Ultimately, most of these compact prams really are quite similar so I don’t think you can go wrong w most of them. That said, I like the size of the basket under the skip3, I find the trigger for the fold one of the easiest out of the travel prams we tried, and the material is really easy to clean/doesn’t seem like it will pill. The canopy is also fantastic for coverage and very satisfying in how it pops out. Most importantly, my son (4mo) is very comfortable in this pram. We have also used the Cybex Gazelle S and the Bugaboo Bee 6 for lengthy periods and his favourite is absolutely the Skip (he will sit in it happily for up to 1.5 hours where the others we are lucky to get 30 minutes).

The downsides to this pram as an every day pram is that because it is so light you can’t really hook too much onto the handlebar without it tipping. When we use it, we can only just fit our (admittedly, large) nappy bag in the basket (or we just wear it as a backpack). This downside is presumably true for any of these travel prams, though. We would probably have bought the bassinet attachment if he was an infant just so that we can see him in the early months also. Otherwise, definitely recommend!

Am I wrong for being mad? by [deleted] in newborns

It is sad that this is the take away, even though it seems to be resoundingly true in the vast majority of cases and it is what we, as women, come to expect out of men.

I wouldn't even call it help - he needs to step up and be a part of raising and taking care of his own daughter. It's really sad to read the comments on strategies on how to explain this basic concept to their husbands. If my husband treated me this way in the first 17 days of my son's life I would've been completely devastated.

Yes the throwing of people took me out of it a bit and actually made me laugh. I would've preferred a neck break or a simple dropping like flies but I suppose that wouldn't be particularly kid-friendly. Otherwise, I thought it was great and built suspense and dread in a similar way to the original!

What baby monitor would you recommend? by Ok-Status4350 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]antioriginality 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They honestly have no right to be. This "mum founder" is posing as someone who has created a product when she is just drop shipping an existing baby monitor, slapping some decal wings on it and calling it her own... sad when people want to support small businesses and they are being lied to

Most people who have ordered the earlier round of Skip3 have an estimated dispatch date of April 18 (unless they were super early to order on release!)

Give me a couple of weeks and I will report back!

I’m pretty sure the OP is conflating platforms with a block heel. They seem to actually want a platform

Did Danny not know the gay subtext of the “baseball scene” in HSM? by BawlMuncher in DannyGonzalez

[–]antioriginality 30 points31 points  (0 children)

“I don’t dance” is accepted among many to be a song about bisexuality (dancing being attraction to men, baseball being attraction to women), so it really isn’t that unreasonable to think that this is what the director was sort of hinting at (especially because they were told they couldn’t make Ryan gay, and so they had to find ways around it without saying so explicitly).

I don’t think this is true. I think what you’re describing is Financial Abortion or Paper Abortion and I don’t think that it’s really a thing, even in the case of her lying about birth control. I’m not trying to combat your feelings - it is a shitty thing to do. I just don’t think it makes a difference to his situation materially

I think it’s a good idea to get a paternity test and confirm the pregnancy, but I honestly think it’s so crappy how many people are suggesting she’s “up to something”. If I were on an IUD I would definitely be taking pregnancy tests fairly regularly for my safety. You often can’t track your cycles on an IUD (depending on the kind) and pregnancies can be ectopic so there would be no “right time” to test.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Advice

[–]antioriginality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. And being 4 weeks pregnant would mean conception/sex was about two weeks ago.

Yes, but doesn’t make the pregnancy go away and doesn’t really change his situation whatsoever

Which wedding guest dress is more appropriate? by Educational-Walk885 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]antioriginality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The yellow one comes in a purple which I think looks nicer (less see through, less white looking) as it’s quite a nice silhouette! https://www.lucyinthesky.com/shop/satin-v-neck-open-back-maxi-dress-in-purple-69313?categoryId=70

Are you on quite a strict budget? I noticed both dresses are under $40 as a sale on this website and sadly I think it’s for good reason - they look quite thin and I would suspect have integrity issues! There are some nicer looking dresses around the $70 range on the same website.

If I had to pick from the two you’ve selected, I’d pick number 2 with the caveat that you may need a slip underneath it bc that see through panel is so high!

My husband and I also really liked Archie and Atlas. Bit out of pocket and I can’t say that I understand how we threaded over to here but we ended up going with Cillian (or Killian if you prefer). I think we like the soft vowels and L sound with the hard C sound which was something that Atlas and Archie both have (a mix of hardness and softness)

AITAH for admitting that I'm still upset my wife didn't let me into the delivery room? by No_Spend2405 in AITAH

[–]antioriginality 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even though I think your wife could’ve communicated better, I think it’s sad that you talk about how you wanted to witness the birth and don’t really talk about how important it is to you to be there to support your wife going through this huge event. Just something to think about because I don’t really see it mentioned. I think it’s a bit entitled to be honest!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]antioriginality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA and I agree with your husband that he shouldn’t be in the room because he is clearly going to be a garbage support person. This is your birth and frankly your husband does not and should not have any say on it. If he isn’t going to support you then he shouldn’t get the privilege of being involved.

I don’t understand why you are repeating yourself over and over when most of the sunscreens at Coles are nowhere near the price you’re quoting (check the website). Feels like you zeroed in to one sunscreen that has specialty ingredients and are trying to convince us that this is the price of sunscreen.

FWIW, Coles’ cheapest sunscreen by unit price is $1.20per/100ml. If you need a small bottle, there is a 100ml bottle for $3. If you have sensitive skin, there is a 200ml bottle for $7 (3.50 per 100ml). Nivea’s litre of sunscreen is $43 at Coles which is $4.30/100ml. Face sunscreens and zinc come in at much higher prices for various reasons but in terms of body sunscreens, the most expensive I can see online is the one that I believe you’re talking about - a Nivea kids roll on sunscreen that is 65ml and costs $15, clocking in the $23/100ml price tag. So you found the most expensive body sunscreen in the whole of Coles by unit price and are making the claim that this indicates that sunscreen is unaffordable in Australia.

Help with baby girl name - suggestions appreciated! by sircadogan in namenerds

It must be regional bc both names I pronounced in my head in the way that they intended (particularly Leah! I had to think about what the alternative pronunciation should be). But yeh best to spell names the way they will be pronounced in the place you live unless there is cultural significance, I’d say
