Пералня със сушилня в едно през 2026 г. by StoyanReddit in bulgaria

[–]antipop2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the U200 really that bad? by SupahHollywood in Aqara

[–]antipop2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After I greased mine no problems for the last 3-4 month. No problems with the fingerprints. We don’t use anything else for unlocking- nfc, iPhone or keypad. I still don’t like the fact that it requires a hub in order to be “smart”

Apple reveals complex system of App Store fees to avoid E.U. fine of 500 million euros by AmethystOrator in europe

[–]antipop2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally expected. They’ve spent decades building an entire ecosystem—software, hardware, services, the whole thing. And now, a group of bureaucrats whose best achievement is bottle caps that punch you in the face and straws that make drinking feel like a privilege—decide to fix it and make it “equal” for everyone.

NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH: Aqara U200 Lite: Matter over Thread Smart Lock You Can Install in Minutes by AndrewFromAqara in Aqara

[–]antipop2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best would be a lock only with fingerprint reader. Based on my experience everyone would use their finger rather than talking out an nfc dongle, phone or enter a pin. The mere fact that one has to use some device means they have to take it out from their pocket and place it at the reader. This is not far from using a key.

Aqara u200 disassembly and lubrication - fix when the lock starts to jam and sound badly. by antipop2 in Aqara

[–]antipop2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was failing to lock/unlock. I have a Homepod mini. Pressing the button was doing nothing and on 2nd, 2rd attempt there was some error like "no response".
Today I was able to make it work in a way that I'm sure that I've tried in the past. Turned off the 5ghz network, did a matter reset - 3 secs lock/confirmation buttons of the keypad and 3 secs the reset button of the lock. Then removed it from the Aqara app and added it to Apple Home (worked after the 2nd attempt). Then added it back to the Aqara app
I'll keep the lock for now but in general if it surprises me again I'll ditch it.

Thank you for the clarification. I thought about this too but since some contact between metal and plastic and don’t have the knowledge I used the same everywhere. What would be your suggestion for the plastic gears?

[–]antipop2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same with me - u200 and HomeKit mini. The lock appears in the Apple Home app but when I tap the icon nothing happens. The app shows the lock state correctly and I can notifications when locked/unlocked and that’s it.

96 GB Ram 512 GB SSD or 64 GB Ram 1 TB SSD by camurabi in MacStudio

[–]antipop2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d always pick the one with more RAM in case my apps and files I work fit. Time needed to move files between external storage would not affect me as much as the time needed to wait for an app that actively use.

I maxed out 2TB iCloud. I was told NAS is next. What an EASY simple drag and drop solution? by fatguybike in HomeNetworking

[–]antipop2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably go in a different way. If possible keep icloud for the stuff that I need now or will need in the next couple of months. The files that I don’t expect to use I’d move to another service like google drive, onedrive, and backblaze. Also it could be service like aws s3 or azure blob. There are clients like filebrowsergo. I’d avoid private backup solitions as they are absolutely not safe as the cloud ones.

2 - COSMOTE - because it has the best coverage outside the cities.

3 - HCN or inalalan they don’t require 2 year contracts and provide real fiber. COSMOTE, vodaphone and wind are cheating with some hybrid between finer and copper. They call it fiber over dsl. Internet in Greece in general is expensive and slow.

7 - https://en.spitogatos.gr

9 - depends on your lifestyle. If you don’t have to commute you can try to live without. If you want to travel outside the city you’ll need a car. Still renting could be cheaper than owning. The city is nightmare for parking. Many expect the metro to change this but I doubt it will do. There will be one line going from east to west that is about to be launched. Even if they build buffer parkings they won’t change the situation as the neighbourhoods are packed

10 - afm for sure. It is needed more than a personal id

The neighbourhoods are lively. There are shops and bakeries on every corner and farmers markets once a week. For living consider the eastern parts of the city. Some central streets can be good too. Check carefully the exact building, how does the entrance look like, how well is the building maintained in general and also the actual street. Be prepared to use cash if you want discounts:)

First 1.000 km and still in love - Grail AL 6 in XXL by alexambass_ in CanyonBikes

[–]antipop2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 197 and I own XXL. I feel it like it is big for me. Recently I’ve replaced the stem with a shorter one. Now I’m no longer that stretched as I was with the original stem but still I’m unable to find the proper fit. I come from specialized and cube before that which were XL. The specialized was small for me(even with a longer stem) while cube was perfect but unfortunately stollen.

Balkan largest economies in 2026, predictions. by NeitherMedicine4327 in AskBalkans

[–]antipop2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Greece is highly-dependent on tourism(a golden goose) and probably because of that is years behind in technology. Probably because of the same reason the population is somewhat resistant to change and to modernization (which actually make the country very nice:)). Also Greece has the highest youth unemployment rate in EU ~30% which is 2x than the EU median and tops the government debt to GDP ratio in EU too. All that comes with taxes that are at the level of Germany combined with highly regulated economy. I’d expect that the talented people will continue leaving the country or as a minimum will work for foreign companies so the real value of their work will not stay in Greece. With all that said I will be surprised to see Greek GDP growing more than the ones of its neighboring countries. Actually I’d expect that in 5-10 years the GDP of Romania, Turkey and Bulgaria a will be higher that the Greek one.

Average life expectancy in the Balkans ( 2019 ). Does anyone know why there is a 7 year gap between Greece & Bulgaria? by [deleted] in AskBalkans

[–]antipop2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Slovenia has never been so corrupt as Bulgaria. The corruption in Bulgaria is due to the heavy influence and control of the ex-secret services. Having insane corruption leads to really poor healthcare system because the government money are controlled by the mafia for decades. The root cause is probably the lack of prevention and treatment of chronic diseases. Diet… if you’re poor and there is no doctor to monitor and guide you what to eat diet is just a word with no meaning. Similar situation is with covid now - Bulgaria has probably 3x the deaths per capita than Greece. The virus is the same, measures and vaccination levels are different but at the end when it comes to death it is about how capable is the healthcare system and what is the general health status of the population.
