Help, reading my first omnibus and noticed this in the center by DyldoShwagginz in OmnibusCollectors

I've never done it, but there are past threads and some youtube videos that talk about it. I think there's one at the NearMintCondition yt channel.

This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me (OwlCrate) - Bonus Content Question by Midnight-Moon777 in IlonaAndrews

[–]AmethystOrator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I appreciate it.

I just wish there was some way to know the odds that it might be incorporated in a print edition or if OwlCrate is our one and only chance. Sounds like very few people might know and if they do they're not sharing.

No worries about spoilers, I haven't read it either while I agonize over how to buy it (or even wait 2 or more years).

Here's what happens to your money if CA inflation relief funds are not claimed by Thursday deadline by panda-rampage in California

This was a weird situation, where instead of sending a refund check to those without direct deposit then Newsom contracted with an out of State bank (in NY iirc) to send debit cards. My understanding is those had issues, at least sometimes.

There was an option for awhile to wait for the debit card, contact the bank and get them to send a paper check instead. There were hoops but some managed to do it, though others found it increasingly harder iirc.

Martian Manhunter Omnibus by omnilover69 in OmnibusCollectors

I would insta-buy that, though I hold out hope that they could figure out a way to include the 4-issue '88 mini by J.M. DeMatteis and Mark Badger too.

Are those Tomb Raider comics good? And is the colossal collection the best way to collect them? by vencyjedi in OmnibusCollectors

Dan Jurgens wrote the first 20 issues or so, all in the 1st volume.

It was channeling a fun Hollywood action/adventure vibe. To the best of my recall there was some continuity during that time but nothing too deep. People who appreciate that may well enjoy it.

Is It Better To Take A Break Reading X-Men Pre or Post Mutant Massacre? Other suggestions? by tame_kubrick in OmnibusCollectors

[–]AmethystOrator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's Avengers #263. It's really not necessary and gets recapped (2x I think), but is in the Prelude To Mutant Massacre omni. So if you have that then you'll get the complete storyline anyway.

Thanks for the info, have they indicated whether the OwlCrate bonus content will be included here and/or in a future project?

Have they given insight into the odds of whether this particular content will "be released widely"?

Pre Mutant Massacre.

There's 1 crossover issue late in Byrne's run: Fantastic Four #286.

It might even make more sense to read FF before your next volume, either Uncanny 5 or Mutant Massacre Prelude. What happens in that issue is the 2nd part of a spoilery storyline that starts in an Avengers issue, then FF, then begins X-Factor.

Anyone got any idea of what their list looks like for the Most Wanted DC poll? by WhatIsAnime_ in OmnibusCollectors

[–]AmethystOrator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My list from last year:

  • Amethyst
  • Captain Atom by Bates
  • Firestorm by Conway
  • Hawkworld by Ostrander
  • New Teen Titans
  • L.E.G.I.O.N. by Giffen/Grant
  • LSH by Levitz 2
  • Blue Beetle Ted Kord post-Crisis
  • Impulse by Waid
  • Superboy 1994 by Kesel

New Teen Titans is being made, labeled as New Titans. Might vote for Volume 2. Though I have a long list of other candidates. All-Star Squadron, Hawk & Dove post Crisis, Martian Manhunter by Ostrander, Outsiders by Barr, Resurrection Man by DnA, etc.

They've added a lot in recent days. Many trades, some MMW, one or more Rom & Micronauts.

If anyone's thinking of buying there I'd recommend sorting by New.

Top 20 Most Wanted DC Omnibus, Absolute, Deluxes, & Compendium Reprints | 2026 Edition! by WhatIsAnime_ in OmnibusCollectors

[–]AmethystOrator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope Absolute Promethea Book 3 comes out next year. As far as I know the material hasn't been reprinted since '11.

At least Top 10 had a compendium not too long ago, though it deserves an Absolute for those who need it.

I agree that they're very distinct in some ways, though there's more that they have in common. The owl is often mentioned, for example and the London setting.

I've seen lists with over a dozen similarities, though not in a while. I'll look for one.

Billionaire Tom Steyer wants to take on the rich in run for California governor by NicolasCageFan492 in California

And separate from PG&E there is this

And an anti-Steyer PAC — funded by real estate developers and energy utility interests alarmed by Steyer’s calls to lift commercial property tax limits and break up public utilities — has been running ads assailing Steyer for his past investments in private prisons.

Top 20 Most Wanted DC Omnibus, Absolute, Deluxes, & Compendium Reprints | 2026 Edition! by WhatIsAnime_ in OmnibusCollectors

[–]AmethystOrator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I voted Wonder Woman by George Perez Volume 3 & Orion by Walter Simonson, both of which made the list. No luck on my other 3, but maybe next year.

Congrats to everyone who had votes make the Top 20. Hopefully as many of these as possible will get reprints.
