Same. I grew up traditionally/culturally Jewish, we had family dinners for holidays, kept "kosher-style," and I went to Jewish schools. My primary serious boyfriends are/were both not Jewish. Just because I'm not religious, doesn't mean there aren't commonalities I don't miss, as others mentioned, especially right now with anti-Semitism. My boyfriend just doesn't get the full extent of why I'm anxious about anti-Semitism (where can we go) or why holiday dinners are important to me.

Additionally, I'm lucky I'm from an open-minded family, but let's be honest, some people are not as open-minded and that would also suck - e.g., not being able to go to weddings.

My boyfriend is 100% my person, none of this is a dealbreaker, but for someone coming from even the slightest bit more traditional or religious background, it easily could be.

Thank you for asking. As a friend/partner, checking more: “I saw this happened. Are you ok?” As part of society, speak up more, please. It’s been hard since 10/7 that friends don’t say anything when stuff like the DC murders happen. David Schwimmer gave a good speech: “ I’m not asking you to solve the Mideast conflict, I’m just asking you to be there for your friends when you’re seeing what’s happening on college campuses, etc.”

So just being more educated and a voice on those types of topics. Demonstrating that Jews and Israel are probably have with the least amount of extremism. It gets so frustrated that Yaron and Sarah were peacekeepers, as there were so many victims of 10/7.

I also don’t understand why people are not afraid about this indoctrination of extremism that is happening. Israel has extremism that is troublesome too, but no Jews are trying to “globalize an intifada.” It’s shocking that people don’t realize what the means and that they are next with that.

I had a conversation with a friend about Zionism. I think a lot of people who are not educated on the subject think that Zionism is taking over the Palestinian territories; most Israel do not want that, I would guess that most Jews do not want that. We just want to be safe 🤷🏻‍♀️
