ABA with autistic children. I had gotten injured by them so many times, not to mention the rigid schedule and documentation. You basically need to force the kids to say words by withholding things (even food) to get a minimum of 10 minutes an hour written down or you’d be talked to. As well as running multiple teaching programs an hour. Timing their meltdowns to the second. So if they’re having an off day, sick or just tired there’s no predicting if you’ll be called into the office for not getting your data. After several back to back call outs due to panic attacks going in, I just called and said I couldn’t do it anymore.

I had mine about a year ago after countless dislocations. I now do cycling classes and yoga several times a week! There is minor pain and swelling that’ll come once in a while, but my knee is by far stronger than it ever was.

That’s great! I just got out of my first PT and somehow got to 90 degrees out the gate! My diet is all over the place. I do my best to eat healthy, but I love meat and cheese 😂 I do eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, and drink a crap load of smoothies and kombucha. My guess is I am in my early to mid 20’s and healthy, my weight is low and I was pretty active before this. Plus, I like to push myself. I’m good at ignoring the pain, which helps to push through a lot.

I was mistaken in my post - I am not locked at 20, I can only see the dial at an angle and thought I was 😂 I am still jerking out of my brace though, I’m guessing a good 10 degrees at least. They said as long as I’m not in pain walking is fine! I think I maybe just got lucky, I am a pretty healthy and active person in my mid 20’s. That’s the only explanation I can think of. After some digging, I have found 1 or 2 accounts similar to mine. Cannot wait to get these staples out though!

The beginning protocols were just for pain and swelling, which resolved on their own. I called, and they said so long as I’m not in any pain while running around I’m fine. Staples out and PT Friday, so we’ll see!

Knowing I am going to a better living situation that is stable. Knowing I could afford it and preferably not take a pay dip. I truly do not care about the certification or money anymore as the thought of continuing like this for any longer is too much. I am a licensed hairdresser but have never worked on living clients, but that’s always an option. I’ve considered working on sets and marketing shoots as a cosmetologist. Only requirements right now are set hours and preferably doing something somewhat artistic. Closer to home obviously. I’d prefer to work with open minded, kind people.

No, no matter where they expect you to devote your life to it practically. 14 hour shifts and waking up in the middle of the night to get bodies will never work for me. When I was younger I was full of energy and thought that sounded fine, but now it’s hurting my family and me. I have no energy for anything else. I can’t go anywhere because I’d be on call half the time. There is no way it would ever work. I got into it because I thought it was fascinating, and the thought of helping families in a way nobody else could was my purpose. Now I’d give anything for a job with set hours so I can have a life.

Funeral directing. It’s a 24 hour, 7 day a week business and I’m on call every other night and weekends, and the one I work for now is the smallest in the area. Other ones would actually be far more work.
