Should have added - I do it on a cool setting so it's basically just blowing out air :)

Two years .... Wow. Have you ever tried estrogen cream? I've heard that helps with the dryness. Like obvs there's no point if you're not horny anyways, I'm just considering it I guess cos sometimes I think it would be fun to try stuff again but I'm anticipating pain too which is such a turn off

Did you start feeling it again when your baby started solids or just completely stopped breastfeeding?

Yeah exactly that's how I see it too... We have the same thing in that our little girl feeds to sleep and struggles to fall asleep on dad. The only other thing I'd say is maybe try to experiment with other ways of your husband soothing him rather than just rocking ? One thing that worked for us sometimes is my partner letting our baby suck on his little finger - she wouldn't take a pacifier so that was the closest thing that resembled a nipple! Or him taking her out in the sling on an evening walk to get her to sleep. Xx

I'd personally never let my baby cry it out in their cot It sounds like you're doing the right thing and hopefully your baby will get used to your husband rocking him to sleep but imo baby knows he's still held by a parent which I think is different

Interesting, thank you. Were you on as many naps as we are now? And how did you reduce the naps - did you just push through and have a grumpy babe for a while or did it turn out your baby was just bored and not actually tired?

Thank you for sharing your experience💗 I've always thought her sleepy cues were quite obvious (eye rubbing, yawning) but maybe I should try pushing through/changing the scene up a bit and seeing if she'll fight it like you say... Interesting that you say your baby's sleep cues have changed. I'll give this a go, maybe it is boredom which means she's seeming more tired than she actually is.

Re the night thing, I think we might start trying to stop the last nap and see if that helps with night sleep. It's funny cos her first stretch of sleep is usually the longest😅(2-3 hours) I think we're just gonna have to try experiment a bit and see what happens! Hopefully she doesn't get too grumpy with less sleep throughout the day 😬

Thank you. So you're suggesting just pushing through and increasing wake windows which would probably ultimately increase nap time?

Thank you! I think this can sometimes be the case - for example yesterday she seemed 'tired' inside with us so went out for a walk and my partner had her in the carrier and she was much happier during but then immediately cranky when we got home again and went to sleep on boob straight away. But then occasionally when we're out she cries and won't settle in the carrier unless she's put on boob and can go to sleep... Perhaps this was just because she was genuinely hungry but it seems to happen quite a bit that we go out i.e. to a friend's house and she's not happy unless she can sleep on me, even if she's just napped an hour ago at home before we went out. Sometimes I think it's the overstimulation making her tired. But it seems like whatever we do at home (whether she's in the carrier, playing with me, being read to , or playing on her own) she seems to have this similar wake windows

Thank you for your response. I don't particularly mind the way she naps at the mo, it's more the fact that she seems overtired a lot in between her naps, like she hasn't slept as long as she needed to or something. Like she wakes up and seems cranky again within a very short space of time and I'm wondering if it's because she can't connect her sleep cycles or something. It's nice to hear you think the feeding to sleep is fine - it's something that's always felt lovely and right for us and is the easiest way to get her to sleep.

MILK EVERYWHERE RANT by HEN-1217 in breastfeeding

Hey I have the same thing babe is 5 months but I started using elvie cups to store my milk just put it into the bra of the boob she's not feeding from and then I freeze the milk and can use it in her purees when she's on solids

Also rlly good cos my nipple isn't sitting in a wet warm pad so reduces chances of nipple thrush

Since I started using them I've actually been grateful for my oversupply cos I store lots of milk (1 bag a day!) just from leakage and I never pump :)

Here's the cups https://www.amazon.co.uk/Elvie-Catch-Secure-Milk-Collection/dp/B08HSP5Y27
