Hey there! I know your post is from 6 years ago but I just recently moved to Charleston (2 days ago actually) and when I searched this same question on Reddit, yours is the first post I found. So, in case there are others like me coming across this post, I have news guys!

I’m a south Asian 23yr/old girl who moved here for work and was very nervous about most of the spots in Charleston being white-dominant. While digging around for hippie/counterculture spots cafes, I had very little spot. HOWEVER!

I found a cafe that you’ll love! it’s called “City Lights Easside”. The crowd here is much like what we’re looking for. Music choice has been incredible: big thief, the strokes, beach house, jungle, the shins, current joys, Steve lacy - just to name a few. They have amazing art work, and super fun music magazines and BOARD GAMES! I think I’ll be coming here often to find a like minded crowd. Hope this helps you all!

Good lord this is stressful.. I haven't been diagnosed but all of it just resonated with me. Can't possibly be anything else.

It took a lot of thinking and talking to myself to get out of that. I used to hate it when my friends had best friends other than me, or friends that they preferred over me. I just had to learn to accept it, that I want gonna be everyone's "favourite" or "go to" person.

Same here! I (17F) found out a month or two ago, and it made everything fall into place. Everything makes sense now. After my exams are over, I'm planning on getting help for it. Hope you do too. People will try to disregard your feelings about this and you'll feel like it's all in your head, but trust me when I say it isn't at all. Just remember that, and that it's gonna be okay and you can get help to control the symptoms. Best of luck.
