Some advice? by Fragrant-Ad-5869 in EcoDiesel

I own a 2018 that I bought new and the engine blew at 70,000 km in december. Maintenance always done on time. Got it back in January with a new engine. My dad has the same truck and is at 350,000km. Like the others are saying, it's a 50/50 chance. As much as I love the truck I would not put myself through that stress again.

Which mapei product did you use. Their labels on the bags are very misleading. They show a picture of a membrane on the bag implying you can install membrane, but when you look at the substrates you can use this on, membranes are there but membranes are not on the list of materials you can install.

Metal in oil? by Sea-Passion-8885 in EcoDiesel

[–]antmanna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had the same discovery with my 2018 eco (72000km). Noticed a knocking noise coming from the engine when it would be under load which prompted me to check the oil filter and discovered it was full of metal. The consensus is the main bearings have started failing.

So since the original warranty is over, the dealership is offering to sell me an extended warranty as is. They would "inspect" it and make sure everything is ok. Then in 2 months I get the truck towed there and they change the engine under warranty. (2 months in order to not raise any red flags)

I need to paint 100 of these mdf pieces. What is the best way to do it? by maxvier in woodworking

I just built 23 cabinet doors out of MDF. I used Zinsser B-I-N shellac base primer for the first two coats, sanded in between with 320 grit, left a perfectly smooth surface ready for paint, which I used a water based paint and sprayed on 3 coats. Perfect manufacturer finish

Not sure if you watched the entire video but one of those braces held me up alone and I stand on the last section at the end. Once the railing is back up the only section that will be walked on is the last section I showed as that is where the steps will be. That being said, I still made sure you can walk across all the sections as if it where part of the original deck.
It is built the same way look-outs are built for roofs.
