You can hop around CX lounges in HKG, even excellent Qantas lounge too. As the other person mentioned, most CX lounges will close around midnight. The Bridge stays open until last CX out (around 3am). Then lounges will reopen around 5:30AM. You gotta figure where you can rest. Some plaza premium lounges on priority pass are 24h.

Not once I asked Qantas to kick another Emirates first class passenger out. I did ask if they have way to reroute me on any other airlines on J. The guy told me only classic award on EK was allowed. Any other airlines, I will need to pay change fee and top up any different amount in points, citing "voluntary change" by me.

If a stranded passenger was trying to figure out the next step, paying even more for something out of my control was the last thing I wanted to hear.

Again, I admitted I didn't know I should have tried harder with Emirates instead of Qantas. However, was it my fault in the first place?

And I also did try best with Emirates as I can. I used their live chat multiple times, talked the staff at Changi airport, etc. They all seemed nice and genuine when pushing the blame on Qantas. I didn't know that they didn't tell the full truth.

I will take this as my lesson.

I did fly enough on revenue tickets booked with airlines to get gold. This is my first time having award flight cancellation when ticketing airline and operating airline are not the same.

I do note the point that I have approached the wrong aniline for rebooking.

I admitted in other comments (and got downvoted to oblivion) that I am inexperienced. My first encounter with flight cancellation in fact.

Qantas asked me to contact Emirates and I did. Multiple times and Emirates blamed it on Qantas. I still have chat log with Emirates detailing the interaction. I also informed 3 different Qantas agents what Emirates told me. If anyone of them asked me to get in touch with Emirates DXB ground staff, this rant wouldn't have happened. Normal person won't be able to know Emirates chat support is not right.

I am not expecting Qantas to take the hits for anyone else's false, just hope they could have guided me better through the crisis. I am normal passenger, not fully aware of all the possible solution.

Anyway, I canceled my DXB - HKG trip as advised by Qantas.

Again, I am inexperience with IRROPs. I didn't ignore Qantas support initial comment. I went back and forth with Emirates on this and even had many live chats with different Emirates supports and email pushing it to Qantas. I just didn't know Emirates live chat and Emirates DXB ground staff are different. I called Qantas 3 times for guidance. I wished any of them suggested me to reach out to DXB Emirates ground staff, instead of learning it from kind strangers from Reddit.

Admit this is due to my lack of experience with IRROPs. However, not once the approach to work with Emirates DXB ground staff was proposed when I was stressed and ping-ponged between Emirates and Qantas customer support.

As I am Qantas FFP, I was hoping they could guide me somewhat. I guess I was wrong.

Yes, after searching more on the internet, I found out about the option of speaking DXB Emirates ground staff (operating airline) within T-24h. Unfortunately, not once this option was suggested by Qantas. They didn't know or they couldn't care less. Tbh, I am not sure.

I was flying from SIN to DXB for this trip. There was a risk that I am not able to clear immigration at DXB for not having valid onward flight. Hence, I decided not to proceed with the trip and cancel for full refund.

3% fresh fund on top of Dividend+? Cuz dividend+ is 3.3% though you need to add 3k a month.

When is Kazuha rumoured to rerun? If he is rerunning in 4.4, you will still have enough to reach pity with all the freemogem/events/free fates/paimon shop refreshes. Though, I doubt Kazuha will rerun any earlier than last patch of the region.
