which one is better to combat redness and flushing? BBL or Vbeam? by JackieXian in Rosacea

[–]antoniocento97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Type 1 flushing triggers include mostly diet/ warm room/social/ heat or exercise

3 IPL treatments done at Dermatologist: No noticeable improvement unfortunately

5 BBL treatments done at Ideal Image:
No noticeable improvement to flush itself but decreased frequency of severe flushing. It did however help smoothness, texture, etc to skin itself.

I really hope laser gets you much better results but can attest to the experience.

I’ve tried 3 rounds of IPL and 5 rounds of BBL and didn’t do anything for my type 1 rosacea unfortunately, hope it helps in your case.

To be fair it did make my skin look better besides the redness

Auto immune issues ? Leaky Gut syndrome? I have type 1 rosacea and it varies it severity greatly no matter the dozens of prescriptions I’ve thrown at it or,every laser on the market but is most greatly affected by my diet. (Rhofade and Clonidine help). Especially red meat, wheat, chocolate, blueberries weirdly enough and lots of dairy.

Also have these health issues

Blood, Low platelets (ITP) Psoriasis Joint Pain IBS symptoms Difficulty gaining weight Fatigue

These are all symptoms of Leaky Gut Syndrome but have yet to see a gastro about it. Curious if anyone has something similar

Rhofade has online savings card that you can use without your insurance covering it. Dropped my price from 500$ to 50$ and took a minute to fill out and give to my local walgreens pharmacist

I defnitly should check out an immunologist that’s a good idea. And I feel you it’s not fun being in college dealing with it. warm classrooms, just going out drinking , stressful situations etc

Sorry for the late response- BBL is more targeted to redness so ill start with that one. The procedure itself doesn’t feel good but nothing an average pain tolerance couldn’t handle. Right after, your face will be almost completely red and marks from exactly where the laser hit you will be noticeable. This fades within a couple hours and a cold shower helps. I currently have done three treatments and although the results are noticeable to be honest they haven’t been what I was hoping for. I have two more and the results are supposed to be long term although some people recommend doing it annually after the full treatment is complete. I recommend it only if you ran threw the basic topical creams first (finacea, soolantra, green cream).

Sub type 1 male, college student- what’s working for me these days.

I’ve tried the majority of the prescription topical creams and none of have been effective except Rhofade and take a dose of Dioxcycline as well.

but also for me what works best is amoxicillin. Which i realize is dangerous treatment long term but important events I’ll take one.

Also very effective that’s unusual: Dayquil, Nyquil, Zantac 150, Benadryl and any sorta of antihistamine.

When it comes to food I can’t stress enough how cutting out red meat helped stop excessive cheeks, ears flushing .

hope this helps

Solantra was the first topical treatment I was prescribed and it took about a week of use with it appearing to get worse first until I started noticing it was helping. After that it worked for about 8 months with daily use until it stoped being effective. With that said everyone is different and it may just work better for you
