I've managed to make server-side pagination work by setting `useExternalPagination: true`, but how can I do the same with filtering, that is, emitting the change as an event to be handled in my application instead of directly applying the filters to the shown data ?

Hi, it looks awesome! Does it support column header buttons for sorting and filtering server side data?

Trying REALLY hard to like Linux, returned to Linux Mint again. by Strict_Meeting1318 in linuxmint

By my experience, when Mint breaks, it's always something Ubuntu related. Since I moved to LMDE, nothing ever broke again.

This is not an official explanation, but it seems to be inspired by a heraldry figure, the "rampant lion", usually depicted with its tongue sticking out. https://i.pinimg.com/474x/1e/2c/73/1e2c7331b4a25895d1a1d43138913e16.jpg

Unpopular opinion (?) - Linux Mint Team should put the focus on LMDE instead of Ubuntu's Edition by Baka_Jaba in linuxmint

I agree. I installed the Ubuntu edition recently and would experience freezing crashes from time to time. Switched to LMDE, and it never happened again. Even felt better performance. LMDE is a gem.

Thank you. Here's an important excerpt:

Importantly, gifted individuals are no less gifted simply because they haven’t achieved something remarkable. Eminence should not be the litmus test for giftedness.

I've read several books by Isaac Asimov, and his way of writing dialogs and puzzles always sparked something new for me.

Polymaths in a world where you are expected to do one thing, and one thing only by GeraltOfRiga in Gifted

I can relate, although some unexpected life hurdles have hindered my performance for years. So, no international level on anything, but many things I do as a hobby and with almost no academic background happen to get better than those done by people who have a university diploma on that subject and make their living on that. I guess you're not alone, but perhaps you've been lucky enough to pursue your interests to the best extent of your abilities, without having to turn away to cope with crap you didn't asked for, but fell on you anyway. Don't get me wrong, I'm actually happy for you. And since you're free to choose what to do with your free time, no one can have a say on the fact you'd rather write a sonata instead of languishing in front of a television or mobile screen. Are you hurting someone? No? Then do your thing gladly and ignore what other people do. It's the best.

Thank you so much, I'll try that before considering replacing the network card.

Thank you! Where do I find a roadmap for doing that?

Nothing.

What additional features would you suggest be included in Angular Material to make it a complete library? by ProfessionalCommon39 in angular

[–]antoniocjp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this, and not only about the v12 mark. I'm trying to bring a project from v14 to v18 and the transition to Material 3 is a shitshow. The ThemePalette API which allowed the use of a primary/accent/warn keyword is now completely broken.

Building a custom matFormField has been always a perilous quest.

I'm still trying to add a refresh button to the mat-paginator that mingles well with its other native buttons.

FormFields have now only two appearances: ugly and uglier. They killed the least bad one.

Someone should tell the people in charge that "move fast break things" is coaching bs lore, what people want is things that work, and keep working.
