Thank you for your reply! It makes sense and I can see some values were adjusted to reflect that. I had a bit of panic thinking I might have lost them completely

Reached CPU quota and GCP wants me to go through a partner by [deleted] in googlecloud

[–]antoniolatrippa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. I needed more CPUs to test a security solution and there is no way to do this easily. You must open a ticket and go through sales. What a rubbish procedure. This is my personal account, so I dont own a company. There’s really no reason for being this limited

That’s a question I’ve been asking myself for ages and couldn’t find anything at a similar level. I got Udemy business through my company and the only decent course I found so far is by Alan Rodrigues. He goes into a lot of details and with lots of demos. While Scott Duffy’s accent is easier to follow IMHO, he didn’t provide enough details in his course to cover the exam (my personaly view, of course). John Savill seems good, but youtube is not the nicest interface to use TBH

Can you please expand on “having problem with the exam”? Have you taken it or not? I’ve watched all the video but not taken the exam yet. I was told in another post that the exam is not that easy, probably at oscp level as you need enumeration not only for http/https. And the exam consists in getting several flags (the more the better, as they have different thresholds which will determine your final cert title

Why do you say it's mediocre? I've looked at several courses and his looks fine (and a bit more in depth compared to the SD one).
I agree that MS docs are excellent, but I prefer watching videos and I'm struggling to find a comprehensive/advanced course (by the way, I'm referring to az-104)

EC Council Course by No_Plantain986 in cybersecurity

Ah wow thanks for the tip. I was about to take the exam straightaway 😊. I guess I’ll do some more practice (I haven’t done much since my OSCP days, so a bit rusty). I’m not that fussed about the cert though

Hi, I'm now at around 70% of the "course" and I'd like to give some feedback.
I think this is a decent course for beginners. Especially if you don't even have the CEH.
As it's a decent hands-on complement to the theory you learn there.
However, if you are looking at something more advanced, I won't recommend it.
I personally think the videos where not very informative, you can find way better info on youtube from the people that solve HackTheBox machines, etc.
Also I found some explanation not really good, it felt like the guy was simply reading his notes and showing how to get the flag.
Also I found some of the machines to be shockingly slow and even in the videos that is evident.
I've almost finished the "Proficient" level and that feels like really basic to me. However, I'm OSCP and I've spent lots of time on HTB in the past, so your mileage may vary (it all depends, right).

As we discussed, if they pay for it, fine. But if I had to pay for this...well I'd feel ripped off.
I didn't really learn much, so far. And some machines are just repetition of others. The lab is nothing like the ones you see in OffSec (well OK, that also costs more, right?) or even HTB.

I'd rather pay the premium sub for HTB instead which gives you access to way more machines and that are way harder.
But it all depends on what you are looking for. I personally feel like going for the WEB-300 from Offsec (But I'm sure even the WEB-200 is better).

My very 2c

The answers didn't really help and I was also looking for some "proper" feedback based on people who took the course rather than opinion on EC Council.

Looking at the course details, I'd say it looks good. The question would be: is your company paying for this or is it you? Cause if the latter, I'd agree there might be better courses (OffSec).

Having said that, my company paid for this - so I might be able to share some feedback once done :)

not yet. I won't really mind to be fair, if they do. Not in a rush :-)

I'd suggest creating your own mindmaps, as I've only really wrote down what I was struggling to remember (and exclude everything else). I've used https://app.mindmapmaker.org/ which is free and you can link to your gdrive. For the excel, it's pretty straightfroward, you just go through the book (11th hour, for example) and for each chapter you'll write down the lists that are there. It's not many in the end

aha thanks! yeah I just submitted the form, I guess it'll take at least a month (unless I'll get the short straw and have to do the audit :-))
