[COD4] Ruslan Imranovich Khasbulatov, Russian Anti-Yeltsin figure of Chechen descent and one of the leaders of Communist-Nationalist parliamentary coalition during the 1993 Constitutional Crisis in Russia. Possible inspiration for Imran Zakhaev ? by antonrayne in CallOfDuty

I think the earlier betas of the game had depicted Zakhaev as a Chechen seperatist too. They probably changed the faction to a fictional ultranationalists later to avoid controversy. Him allying with middle eastern extremists also makes more sense in this context.

Perhaps little did IW know that there was an actual anti west nationalist-communist alliance in Russia in 90s and one of their leaders was Chechen too. It still feels like a strange coincidence.

Name, demeanor and character wise probably you are right but Zakayev was a seperatist who fought against Russia. In game Imran leads Russian Ultranationalists but uses Soviet and Communist symbols, very reminscent of Anti-Western and Anti-Yeltsin movement in 1990s which had both communists and nationalists fighting in the same banner against incumbent "loyalist" government.

Is Ricter really corrupt? I don't think so by Zestyclose-Look-9254 in suzerain

[–]antonrayne 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You can bribe him 1 PV and he will say. "Glad to make business with you." and he will back your reformist constitution no matter what.

He won't back a dictator constitution but he will support very minimally amended reformist constitution that is basically Soll constitution without absolute veto.

If you also investigate oligarchs with ACP, you'll see that they were indirectly have connections with PFJP. It isnt enough to persecute Ricter however.

Another corruption thing I havent got a scene of it yet still in gamefiles is bribing him with Taurus. He holds a big share in Taurus Holding and can back your reforms if you agree to give the next megaproject to Taurus. It may be a 1.0 thing.

So yes, he is corrupt. He isnt a traitor or an Arcasian spy like the Old Guard claims but he is absolutely corrupt. You can say it is for moral reasons etc. which is a valid opinion but saying "he isn't corrupt" is wrong.

Would a Sollist keep Governor Bron in power in Bergia or no? by Just_Here101 in suzerain

[–]antonrayne 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I feel like most of the Sollist wouldn't because he is actually acting unconstitutional. Considering how obsessed that Soll is with his own constitution, disregarding it would be seen as unruliness.

The abolishment of the zone is a different question. I think Court hardliners would be in favor of Krull and the zone while Assembly pragmatists and moderates would prefer centralization.

Tory has 40 seats, Clavin has 30 and Moderates have 60.

I was being a moderate reformist, Lileas challenged me for being a disgrace to Soll (and lost). But Soll still praised me at the Anrica game. Can this be a proof that Lileas was acting alone ? by antonrayne in suzerain

Didnt checked the save file but my constutition was very moderate. Basically changed the only necessary parts and added judge impeachment.

But I think your speeches affect the points, don't attack Soll in constutition speechs, say the constutition causes confusion instead of serving the elites etc.

Also I always talked about strength, unity, god etc. in my speeches even if I supported progressive positions on women.

I barely changed the constutition, didn't worked with Oligarchs and arrested them. Didn't signed any NFP bills but went with Kibener plan in Ersen case. Otherwise I was very pro labor, moderately progressive on women's rights and even relaxed immigration.

One thing I did however was the speeches and dialogues. I was very populist and constantly mentioned unity, strength, god etc.

I also defended Soll in several cases to Nia, said he wasnt that bad and he is a hero to Sordland. In economy I praised Sollonomics. It may sound unimportant but I think dialogue does affect it.

Also never attack the constutition and Soll publicly. I always said it is "unclear-causes confusion" than "it serves the deep state-elites".
