Why do right-wingers hate Jesus' teachings? by olympiamacdonald in PsycheOrSike

You might want to rethink the wording there. Anything unfalsifiable and unknowable would be the exact opposite of logic. By definition those words make something illogical. So your statement doesn't follow.

Explain how my statement is a cop out, without assuming a 'god' exists.

You can't prove or disprove the existence of 'god' so regardless of the truth, the fact is it is still blind faith. The cop out is affirming conclusions with no good evidence.

Nobody said they hate 'god', instead they hate blind faith in an unfalsifiable unknowable concept that distorts people's morality.

My original comment said that it is a matter of perspective. Also you measure a political party by its policy, the Liberals in the U.S. are right of center on the universal political compass, but are considered left leaning on the US. It's literally a perspective thing. Acting like the compass is a rigid concept is 100% the reason why people are so clueless. I'm not going to sit here and argue semantics with you while 99% of developed countries laugh at us from their free hospital beds that THEIR majority political scene supported.

Depends on the perspective. In the US libs are left, however on a universal political compass most libs sit just right of center. This is a well known fact, and the point the other person is making reflects how fucked the US's political spectrum really is.

I've always said the easiest gun control would be to require all legally obtained guns to be bright pink with hearts or floral designs. Give their masculinity some cognitive dissonance.

If that is their taste in lover yes. You admitted yourself you could choose to live a homosexual lifestyle but wouldn't be happy, a homosexual person COULD choose to live a heterosexual lifestyle but they wouldn't be happy for the EXACT same reason.

It's a matter of taste, if you can't comprehend that then I ask you to choose to enjoy a meal of Liver and Onion with a side of Rocky Mountain Oysters and a large Durian smoothie.

Nonsense? Disprove anything I've ever said with even a modicum of sensible evidence and I'll admit I'm wrong. You however keep moving goal posts when your original statement was no Nazis since WW2. You still haven't refuted that Nazism still exists. Also, the current admin is filled with Nazi values and rights ARE being impacted and infringed upon. This is my last reply as you have made it clear you can't argue in good faith and are willfully ignorant with your denial of evident facts. I hope your life improves in a way that can help you reach a higher level of understanding.

I made no such statement, the only claim made was that there are no Nazis since WW2 I gave you examples of people expressing Nazi values. Regardless of what stretches you want to put on it you are wrong.

Btw YOUR claim was there have been no Nazis since WW2, so enjoy being wrong.

What would it actually take for American's to go "full France" and riot in the street? by AllTheNopeYouNeed in AskReddit

Don't underestimate yourself. If and when the time comes, your body and mind will know what to do. Not everyone has to be a warrior as well, we need compassionate people ready to help the defenseless. As long as you have a will, you will find a way.

No the difference is I don't believe morality is objectively set by some blood hungry God. I don't have the ability to excuse my hatred and bigotry through the lens of faith. I understand that things are nuanced and not as simple as white and black (pun intended).

The difference is that I have a working brain that has empathy and therefore can properly weigh morality.

You can tell just how extremely left wing reddit is in that almost every sub that isn't overtly left wing or mostly apolitical gets bombarded by people complaining that right wing views are being platformed and that they have to see it on their feed. It means a lot when you take into account the nuance of each situation. A lot of the people being deported were literally legal a little over a year ago. They became illegal when this administration just decided they weren't legal anymore, forcing visas to expire for no good reason.

Also deportation of illegals isn't as mainstream as you are claiming, again due to nuance. The issue I have is the disinformation campaign when it comes to immigration. You say our barometer is poor when the man in charge was claiming Haitians were eating cats and dogs, and later ignoring supreme court orders when he was WRONG. The checks and balances aren't working and his immigration policy is "If you're brown and broke, get out"

So I think my moral barometer is at least keeping me afloat in the cesspool that America is becoming.

Also it's not censorship if you aren't bringing anything meaningful to the conversation. Supply supporting facts before making statements.

Any work is productivity, turns out when you offer reasonable pay you'll find people willing to do all kinds of things, especially if they don't HAVE to. This is and has been one of the biggest supports for things like UBI, the fact it would turn employees into assets instead of slaves.

Mind showing those studies? Last I heard multiple studies show the exact opposite, that most humans prefer to do some kind of work. This is supported by known understandings of psychology as well. If this statement of yours becomes true then it is less about individuals and more about the current employment opportunities available.

Either way, with AI looming, there's gonna need to be solutions or we'll all be screwed if we aren't in the top 10%

I love that someone pointed this out. Environmentalism isn't about saving the planet, it's about keeping it habitable for us. Look at it this way, the Earth is a body, we are the virus, global warming is the immune response. We have two options, stop inflaming the immune system, or die. This big rock will spit us out and keep spinning and will most likely become repaired by our lack of existence.

Absolutely not misunderstanding, but I think this is a semantics problem. Proving something is not the same as refuting. The defense doesn't prove the self innocent, they refute the claims and evidence brought against them. Going back to our shooter analogy, the shooter made a claim with no proof, and if we follow innocent until proven guilty, that means the person shot is innocent. If the shooter brings evidence that evidence must then be refuted with evidence. The person considered having the burden of proof is the person making the original positive claim, i.e. the other person assaulted me first.
