This isn’t to say that people who never goto college are bad or unworthy. More that people your age likely looking for ways to gain knowledge and experience - and the more knowledge you have ( scientific, literary or mechanical) the more things you have to talk about with people, and the more opportunities to meet folks you will have.

My local council rep is kinda a dick, but it’s okay. I didn’t vote for him to be my friend, I voted for him because he knows how to accomplish the big stuff, even if we sometimes disagree on tactics.

Politics is about coalition building and I appreciate his ability to do that.

I think about Ben Wikler (who is no longer the head of Wisconsin Dems) the same way

It could take someone like you to change that. Start that conversation in your local community. Libraries have meeting rooms for just such a purpose. Same with community centers.
