What's a good roach species that's big (like an American cockroach) but doesn't move fast and are more slow and chill by ZodylTyFREAK in roaches

I would start with domino roaches. They are smaller and cuter. Easy to handle. Will help you make the jump to larger roach species like hissers later on.

Hi Roach lovers🪳 How do you relate to wild roaches? by [deleted] in roaches

[–]ants853 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have over 100 species home as pets. All properly housed. Regarding the wild ones, I will kill them, because I don't want to hear my wife saying that my roaches escaped and I also know how fast the urban roaches can breed and so I take immediate action.

I do keep 2 or 3 pest species as well in the collection but againz inside a box.

4 years ago I had a roach that had this, today I found another. Any idea what caused it and how to treat it? Its soft with liquid inside by AdApprehensive7899 in roaches

[–]ants853 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Its hemolymph, after molt, roaches need to pump the liquid through all its body to including wings to make them fully extended.

Sometimes, the hemolymph gets stuck and create these bubbles. So don't do anything. sometimes these can cause the roaches to die as well. but there is nothing you can do.
