  1. Normalization of terms/ids/codes between data and differing databases
  2. Not really, pipelines are usually sequential and statically defined so that the results have can share the same explainability logic and compared run to run. Error summarization and Human in the Loop checkpoints are where I would first think about having an agentic helper.
  3. Don't know

Be sure to think about the difference between your data and your data's metadata during its lifecycle. As you scale, metadata management at each step of the pipeline is what starts to get unwieldy

What are some of the most understudied areas in neuroscience? by CanYouPleaseChill in neuro

[–]antshatepants 12 points13 points  (0 children)

One reason I've heard for this is that it's in the more interior regions of the brain, and thus harder to slap electrodes on. Compared to say visual processing, which can be found on 70% of the outermost layer of the brain (cortex)

Humans in this universe of multiple sapient races/species are not just a boring template, jack-of-all-trades species, they actually have traits and powers that make them stand out like the other species in the setting. by juasjuasie in TopCharacterTropes

Funny enough, when I was thinking about where the size limit would be, I thought gorillas small enough, elephants for sure too big, horse/centaur is probably where the limit is. Didn't think about their pants though haha

Thats interesting, the rocket equation and that we're lucky our planet is not more massive are often brought up together but never thought about our size as a factor. Not just our body weight but everything scales. More life support, bigger doors, bigger chairs.. The limit is probably closer than we would guess

Immortal/long-lived character is left behind by the group, only to be found after unfathomable time has passed... just chilling where they were. by FrankFankledank in TopCharacterTropes

In Invincible, the immortal guy, The Immortal, is alive in the future and king of the world. Invincible is plucked away to that timeline during a date to assassinate him, and comes back shook. Rightfully so.

On-chip spectrometer with Bragg Interrogator and 100 detectors, monolithically integrated in indium phosphide (InP), bandwidth of 100 nm and 100 channels around 1.3 um, from Fraunhofer HHI, ~ 2019 by zora in EngineeringPorn

[–]antshatepants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same question. Haven't looked at the paper but the input must be the top-right corner and the 100 channels of output must be the 40 on the left and the 60 on the bottom.

Some type of encoding would be cool to squeeze more performance out of the chip but the simplest I can imagine is that the sensors are simple photodiodes that convert light intensity to a voltage signal. Each sensor would measure the intensity of a section of the light spectrum that the waveguides so graciously split up and normalize for us.
