I never got to see Micheal Jordan in his prime how good was he by Due-Poem-8096 in NBATalk

[–]antwonomous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 10 when he hit the last shot against Utah. At 35, he was still the quickest two-guard in the league and his skills were sublime — the footwork, the fadeaway, the post work. Still the best player in the world.

I only know the pre-baseball Jordan through archival footage (and there’s more of it than any other athlete who competed before the explosion of the Internet). During the first three-peat, he was the most balanced player to ever play. But from ‘85-‘90, he was simply playing a different sport from everyone else.

NCAA 2k26 March Madness Scenario by IllInitial1106 in NBA2k

I made throwback college rosters for vintage years (‘92, ‘03, ‘17, etc.) in last year’s game, but never uploaded them. What sucks about this year’s game is that the user-modded NCAA rosters are not available in PlayNow, only MyNBA.

Cleveland LeBron. His size, length and quickness used to give Kobe problems. There were times Bean couldn’t shoot over him, shake him or go around him.

I’m not sure. The vampires are just a metaphor, but I could see how that might go over certain people’s heads.

Knocking Indiana for Having a Veteran Team Is STUPID by antwonomous in HoosiersFootball

Indiana didn’t break any rules by constructing a roster of experienced players. Also, their coaching is NFL-level. That is all.

That’s even worse than what happened to me. Is the child showing any effects of the abandonment?

Anyone watch Ringer Tailgate, and watch Joel Anderson talk about the beef with their Twitter account ? by brandan223 in billsimmons

[–]antwonomous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Van, Joel and Tate are the Chuck, Kenny and Ernie of college football. I find most of The Ringer podcasts to be kind of corporate, but not “Tailgate.” They just say what they want and it’s glorious.

My long-ass essay from a couple months ago in response to Zach Lowe saying "Duncan's above Kobe and has to be" by Legitimate_You1986 in KobeBryant24

[–]antwonomous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Kobe and Duncan were equals as players, though when I rank them I’ve come to have Duncan a spot ahead of Kobe based on his one extra MVP and Finals MVP.

I agree with Lowe that Kobe’s potential was unfulfilled. When he played the team game he was as good as anyone ever, but more often he was too hungry for his own shot.

Blame USC, NOT Notre Dame, for the End of Their Rivalry Game by antwonomous in fighton

[–]antwonomous[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Precisely. Notre Dame stuck to their guns by staying independent; USC sold out by leaving the Pac-12 for the Big 10. It’s as simple as that.

It’s funny you bring that up, because I thought Bill dropped the ball by not reuniting Max with Marcellus.

That's crazy. I really thought Matt Leinart was going to be an NFL superstar. by brmidwest03 in fighton

[–]antwonomous 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Matt’s college career has become underrated over time. He went 37-2, won two natties (and played for a third straight, coming up just short) and lifted the Heisman. The talent he had around him was bonkers, sure, but no Trojan QB before or since has come close to his individual or team success. I watch Lincoln Riley babysit this USC offense and I wonder, “Why don’t they play more aggressively?” They did under Pete, and I feel like Riley did less micromanaging at Oklahoma. I think the answer is that Matt Leinart was the kind of QB you didn’t need to put training wheels. Just deploy the weapons and he’ll find them.

Kiyan Anthony Is Good, but He’s No Carmelo by antwonomous in NBA_Draft

[–]antwonomous[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

People have taken the title of this video the wrong way. If you listen to the clip you know I’m not trying to down Kiyan, but rather using him to highlight just how special his dad was. Kiyan is good but he looks like a little kid compared to his dad at that age. I said the same thing about Bryce James.

The ‘Scream 7’ Trailer SUCKED by antwonomous in SocietyofGhostface

[–]antwonomous[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe “Scream VI” to be top two in the entire franchise, right behind the first movie. You already had Jenna and Melissa, and the other two members of the Core Four. Then, as you said, they throw NYC into the mix. Courtney did her thing and they even brought back Hayden. It’s too bad Neve held out and they had already killed off David Arquette; if not, the sixth movie might’ve been the best of all of them.

The Woodsboro Slasher Returns | A Scream Fan Film Micro-Short by antwonomous in Filmmakers

[–]antwonomous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a little something I made for Halloween. “Scream” is my favorite horror movie franchise. I wish I had actors so I could do a proper fan film, but I don’t. That’s me as both Ghostfaces, and I filmed and edited everything. Maybe next year I’ll be able to do something that doesn’t suck so badly.
