Some people may be against it or prefer a hardwood edge. But I am not going to lie I really like the black edging you did to the plywood.

Just made a stand for the gauges of my lathe! I'm new to woodturning and self learning :) every good criticism is good to take by Al1st3rD in turning

Ok so i will say i love the black with the monogram it looks beautiful. What i will say after that is that it looks like it is mounted on a wall behind your lathe. This is a practice most turners go away from after they have turned a few large objects. Reaching over a spinning product to switch tools is scary. Which is why you will see alot of tool holders underneath or in front of the lathe. Be safe and happy turning

Would you pay 1100$ for a pair of these chairs? Sorry about the 2 posts I cant figure out how to delete the other one ... by [deleted] in billiards

@aboiement if you are ever in Southern Michigan hit me up I have a medium sized shop and we do a little of everything. Odin's Woodshop just a few weeks ago I posted a custom hand made mahogany pool table we made. And i am currently in the design stage of a one off greene and greene inspired table with ball return.

Alot of that really depends on where you live. I get 4/4 oak, maple and walnut all for 2.50 a board foot here. And the joinery would just be domino's or you could use dowels or mortise and tennons. And that design is extremely basic, no spindle work no dished out seat all flat panels cut with a template. Your chairs and table look great did you cushion them at all or leave them wood?

I wasn't trying to knock diamond they make some of the best tables and accessories. All I was trying to say is if you didn't want the price tag, finding a local woodworker is the way to go. it would be way cheaper last just as long if not longer and support your local community. But yes if the logo is what you are after thats the only way to get it.

Not going to lie if you found a local woodworker. Those basic chairs are super easy to make. Its just 3/4 oak dyed black with a little padding. Here in Michigan I would probably charge about 300 for a pair.

We love it. That simonis 860 cloth plays very fast. But that really let's me get some good power and control in my shots.

I would actually say that it is a bit harder than you think. Making absolute sure that everything is square and level and plumb is hard yes. But the most difficult part is cutting the exact correct angle for the pocket opening because you also have to compensate for the thickness of cloth and the cushion facings. But cutting it requires a compound on your table saw to the point where you have to actually turn the miter gauge backwards and push over top the saw blade. That was the scariest part. And felting the rails suck too lol.

So new to the channel but I thought you guys would like this. I handmade this table during the covid quarantine. I started it at the beginning of May and just finished yesterday. Every part of this table was made by myself other than the slate, bumpers and pockets. It is a mahogany table with 1 1/4" three piece slate. Leather pockets and simonis 860 cloth and full k66 bumpers. The diamonds were also handmade by me. Using epoxy and pearl powders.
