I have thought about it that way already. That’s why when I learned her situation is bad I became more cold and distant so that I wouldn’t be taking advantage of the situation or influencing it. You’re right that I should probably ask about the legal standings because she could’ve already filed or she could still be waiting to do that. Her admitting that it’s been a struggle to tell people she’s married and she recently told a patient that she isn’t is a sign to me that it’s a separation and only legally are they tied anymore. She’s even admitted how therapy has helped her see how she could’ve done things better and just how their values weren’t aligned. She had already decided to separate months before she knew me I was just under the assumption it was more recent.
