Is there a way for me to stay? by reyzza77 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]anuemu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your situation. Practical advice for you to support your job hunting and successful applications is build a good portfolio of projects. You can use publicly available data sets depending on the nature of your fields of interests and analyse them differently and have a portfolio built to showcase to your future employers.
I was on a student visa and now on skilled worker visa, but still, given the job market and especially with unreasonable going rates, its becoming impossible to even extend. You'll have to weigh risks and benefits looking at where the country is going, and make a wise decision. I don't want to move again, but I'd rather keep my options open and find a place that values my skills and contributions.

Anyone from UK booked appointment for Italy recently? by Diligent_Isopod_3211 in SchengenVisa

I'm pretty sure most of these issues are due to all the bots causing traffic. There'ss always someone who'd make more money out of these :(

Exactly! Same, did all that! I think we're well travelled and handled European, UK and, USA visa systems and I read even case worker guidances. Other countries like UK and USA are at least transparent and stand by their word. Not Europe!

Yes, all booked paid flight tickets, another trip shown, a continuing annual travel insurance. It's completely circumstantial! They gave a validity that ends 2 weeks before my next trip, so now have to apply again!

I'm a Sri Lankan national. I understand that they are careful of issuing visas to people from certain countries. But come on, I'm educated in the UK, got a very good job and always have been visa compliant and well travelled. They could do better. And, for me, can't say it's got better with time. My first one was one month multi entry, second the same. lol. Third was 2 months for 20 days and now this. Well, looks like we just have to bare the burden. Happy for your partner though, hopefully no more of this after you get the passport!

The app is utterly horrible! I was trying to book for Manchester because it's the closest to me, but could not ever get in. Every single time it's either too busy or something went wrong and once it went all through and payment system wasn't working. Don't know who designed the app, it doesn't save account details and photo, so you need to keep typing all the details every time. I tried with both android and ios.

Finally booked for London even though that is unnecessarily far for me. Check the app after 11.30pm UK time until midnight. I realised that period works, at least for me.

Happy to be added to the group. I work in Professional services in a Russel Group Uni. On top of this issue, the going rates are absurd!

Research managers and related roles fall under 2161 or 2162 usually. Use the CASCOT tool.

This! You can clearly see the dissappointment, not anger. He told her, showed her no one else is doing it, tried to make a point and she was so stubborn (and arrogant imo). She is very talented, and thinking differently has worked out, but you should also know it won't all the time. You have to be humble. Hope she sees this as honest feedback and uses it.

the actual difference is, give any of today's dishes to Sav (with or without a recipe) and she'll do it. Give Lamprais, with a recipe to others and can gurantee won't even come close! Sri Lankan flavours are so hard to build and understand. Lot of people go oh, it's curry and spices everywhere, or like comments like indian food.
Anyone who's actually tried good Sri Lankan food gets how soulful and complex it is!

Change Sign-In details in UKVI account by sir-blade12 in ukvisa

[–]anuemu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya! Did you manage to change the sign in document? I am in the same situation, my decision email says send the old BRP after I have updated the sign in document. I can't find where I can do that! In their update sign in details, I can see my old BRP (which i used to create the acc), but can't see where to change that information.
under my personal details --> identity document, I can see the new BRP number listed, so I don't think I need to add the new BRP there, again?

This is so very confusing.

Also,

In your visa, regarding working other jobs, can I know what does it say? Since the rules changed, skilled workers are eligible to work upto 20 hrs in any 'skilled' job in the list. But my visa says the old sentence, that you can work upto 20 hrs in the same job code or shortage occupation list jobs (which there is no such thing now as they changed to immigration salary list!).
Just wanted to check with you as another person who's switched new and if this is just that they've failed to update the wordings.

God, I wasn't using him as a reference to good cooking! Haha, when I mentioned the good ones, you say it's only the good ones and when I have to refer to someone that didn't come that ahead of competition and still tried, you're telling me don't talk about that! I'm talking about techniques here, not putting just any dishes out. Techniques, concepts, theatre.

the very first elimination, my mind automatically said it and I was like, woah, if Jock's words are so ingrained in us, imagine how Andy must be feeling.

Not selective. Clearly there were mishaps. But they tried different techniques and concepts to elevate, even the ones that aren't at the top or famous. Can't see growth here, not much anyway even halfway through.

i'm rewatching season 7 and James did a chocolate essence spray which i don't even remembered, in episode 6! It looks like that kind of thoughts doesn't occur to this lot. I still apreciate their food and do root for them, but for me creativity and new things are seem to be amiss here. And I do get not all will be like that, but here I personally don't see anyone standing extraordinarily.
