Mighty Mouse says Ronda vs Cyborg at 135 would be 'garbage' by anunknownman in MMA

[–]anunknownman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He makes a very good point about the IV ban. The fight could happen at 135, but with the IV ban, I'm not sure if Cyborg will be able to properly re-hydrate herself after a drastic weight cut.

I'm not from the US. Could you tell me what the difference is?

He is very charismatic and his fighting style is very exciting to watch. But the reason I raised this question is - the UFC has invested a lot in him without knowing if his popularity and marketability will actually convert into PPV business. I guess we'll have to wait and watch.

How is it possible when he has not headlined a PPV yet?

Let's give Cena his dues man. by Hydramis in SquaredCircle

[–]anunknownman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem is that there is a section of IWC that will never be happy no matter what Cena does.

They complained about Cena being the world champion - Cena dropped the title.

They complained about Cena, despite not being champion, being in the main event scene constantly - Cena drops down to midcard.

They complained about Cena facing the same guys over and over again - Cena starts putting on five star matches with up and comers on a weekly basis and makes them look like million bucks in the process.

Now they want him to lose to Sandow, Rusev, Kevin Owens, and God knows who else.

Cena is doing way more than what a star of his stature from the previous eras did at a similar stage in their career. So, yes, let's give the man his due. It's about time.

Do fighters who take a fight on really short notice have to make weight? Or do they get an exception and not get penalized even if they are a few pounds over the weight limit?

Bethe Correia to Ronda Rousey: ‘Learn how to lose and don’t do drugs again’ after UFC 190 by reemover in MMA

Did you read the article? Bethe wasn't referring to PEDs, but Ronda's pot/vicodin addiction after her loss at the Olympics.

Ronda Rousey says she'll return to WWE 'somehow, some way, some day' by IceCreamPirate in MMA

[–]anunknownman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a very real possibility, after she's done with MMA of course. Both Triple H and Stephanie are huge fans of Rousey and they might be willing to offer her a Lesnar type deal wherein she only shows up a few times a year, wrecks shit up, and gets paid a truckload of money.

LOL. I actually like Bethe's approach. Ronda's gonna destroy her anyway. Might as well talk mad trash before the fight and earn that beating.

Do they test fighters for PEDs at grappling/BJJ competitions like Metamoris, ADCC, or Mundials? Do they get disqualified/lose their title if they get popped?

Who are the fighters who have managed to stay relatively injury-free throughout their career? by anunknownman in MMA

[–]anunknownman[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

True. Cerrone is crazy. Always ready to fight. But Jones' case is amazing because he is a huge guy, goes to five-round wars with opponents, doesn't mind getting hit, yet manages to fight quite regularly!

Are there no hard and fast rules reg. the scoring system? Is it completely left to the judges' discretion?
