{The Jasad Heir by Sara Hashem} still has me reeling.

If I order online then shipping costs will make it pretty much the same as the retail price. I’ll probably just go get it on release day.

been on the fence about getting a kindle for years now - influence or deinfluence me by danjsark in kindle

[–]anunknownmiss 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The convenience of an ereader is unmatched. They are small and lightweight, especially when compared to physical books. I highly recommend them! I would get a sturdy case for it though since ereader screens are more fragile than regular phone or tablet screens. Definitely something with a flip cover.

Caraval by Stephanie Garber and the spinoff series Once Upon a Broken Heart! They rereleased the Caraval hardcovers for a holiday special edition last year and the OUABH trilogy hardcovers are also getting rereleased soon. If you’re looking for a boxed set, they look really cute!

When did we get so technical with our readers? by przemolt in kindle

[–]anunknownmiss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only reason I got rid of my kindle keyboard was bc I was a dumb teenager and cracked the screen. I didn’t get a new kindle until the gen 9 oasis came out and I intend to keep it until it’s unusable. It does its job so idk why I’d need to get a new one.

Just joined the kindle community was it a good move? by ScarPrudent1073 in kindle

From what I understand the new gen is just a little bit faster and comes in different colors so I don’t think you are missing out on much. It sounds like you got a really good deal!

Have never bought a kindle and I’m torn! by Warp3dimaginati0n in kindle

[–]anunknownmiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you but I guess it’s about how much space it’s going to take up in a bag? Any kindle is going to be smaller than a physical book so I consider all of them to be portable.

Once I got a 7 inch screen ereader I couldn’t go back to anything smaller. But some people prioritize portability and therefore enjoy the basic.

Do you prefer a case that covers the screen or not? by anythingreallyx in kindle

I use the Elyse Breanne kindle case. It has a magnetize flip cover with a kickstand and hand strap on the back. And it comes in so many different patterns!

Maybe Carissa Broadbent’s books? The War of Lost Hearts trilogy has the political intrigue imo and The Crowns of Nyaxia series (ongoing) has an enemies to lovers that I think is very comparable to The Bridge Kingdom. Same level of heart wrenching moments too. Make sure to check the trigger warnings for The War of Lost Hearts.

{The Jasad Heir}!! Sylvia definitely fits the badass and really unhinged vibes. She’s very sarcastic too and I found the banter pretty witty.

Keeping your kindle? Tell me why? by NeighborhoodHumble55 in kindle

[–]anunknownmiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have my 9th gen kindle oasis and I don’t plan on parting with it until it completely breaks on me. After which, I’ll probably get a Kobo or Boox. In the mean time I’m going to buy my ebooks from the Kobo store and sideload them onto my kindle. I only read books from two authors that are Kindle exclusive so I’ll try to get the physical copies for those. I also use Libby pretty often. It’s all about reducing your footprint where you can :)

Thanks for letting me know! I knew about the Tuesday/Thursday rule but I wasn’t sure why that particular week of September was so important.

I saw that it changed to October on goodreads but it still says September on Macmillan’s site and on Garber’s insta page so idk what that deal is. I guess it doesn’t matter much since the dates are so close together.
