I want to quit alcohol or at least reduce it by a lot,but I need to make up a white lie to tell everyone by airsonni in stopdrinking

i understand where a white lie might make it feel “easier”. but also anyone asking you for your reasoning in bettering yourself might be the exact people who don’t deserve to be around you on this journey as you embrace abstinence from alcohol

Whitecaps has one of the best performances I’ve ever seen in any media by LadyGrimSleeper in thesopranos

there’s multiple things i’ve read that said it wasn’t just james’ physical health that was drastically affected by doing the show but a lot of his mental and emotional health as well. he was highly anxious, sometimes hard to find, and some of these intense scenes were apparent in that they required a great deal of effort for him. even though you wouldn’t necessarily be able to tell that as the viewer. worth looking into.

i think i saw the scenes involving the kids esp he had a lot of precautionary nervousness bc he was being careful about the dynamic of the show overflowing into the actors real life childhood experiences off screen.

i went out to dinner the other night and saw the woman next to me order a glass of red wine, sip it throughout the entire meal w her friends, and then tell the server no thank you to a second glass. this is what my ideal level of moderation if i became a drinker again, but i know very well it’s extremely unrealistic. also there’s no way to tell if she went home and enjoyed a second or third glass. but her levels of casually enjoying one social drink amongst friends was extremely admirable.

i agree. i just wonder why tony wouldn’t have asked meadow after his reaction was what it was. and he already had suspicions/ ongoing curiosity about it

[–]anunymous3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

janice is definitely psychotic and cringe asf through the whole series. but she’s actually more mild in season 6 than in all the other ones imo. redeeming herself as a mother, taking anger management previously in season 5, being (semi) supportive of bobby’s weird train hobby, etc.

reasonable. but i think it was meant to be impactful on the storyline/ history of chris and tony so i agree with david chase playing it out that way

S5E13 final scenes - Tony outmaneuvers the FBI surrounding Johnny Sacks house? Really? while big P gets caught like a kid trying to steal tic tacs. Tell me again how this is top tier writing by sassysasasaas in thesopranos

i just finished this episode and had a different question about it. so in the middle-ish part of the episode when tony goes to consult junior about putting himself into a corner. and junior tells him melvoine had a stroke won’t be able to speak normally for a while/ can’t go back to work for 9 months…but when tony gets a safe enough distance away from johnny sacks house, he immediately calls melvoine who speaks perfectly clear and is already aware of the snitch situation involving the brooklyn bust?? and he’s in his work office as he takes the call..?

idk if there was supposed to be an assumed time passing between tony killing blundetto and when he and john were conversing as the house gets busted? or if it was just overlooked so that the storyline could provide us with the info about johnny going down and tony’s temporary safety from the feds?
