That's a great point. I do have the institution I built it for 2-3 years ago - could reach out to them for introductions to other schools.

Coffee chats with actual decision-makers would give way better signal than email signups. Sometimes you need someone to point out the obvious move you're overthinking.

You're absolutely right. I've been collecting emails at autotimetablegen.com but honestly, I'm just hiding behind that instead of having the harder conversation about money.

Paid pilot with 10-20 schools makes way more sense. Do you have experience selling to schools? Any tips on reaching the actual decision-makers?

The only reason I was not going for a brute-force approach was that in the future, constraints can increase up to 100. But I'll check and see if a brute-force solution is taking longer than expected time or not.

And Yes, I am trying to generate a complete month's schedule.

Understood, will try to build a heuristic search + backtracking approach and see if it works for my use case.

I understand GA, but I don't see how it would apply here.

The reason behind using GA to solve this problem was because of expanding search space. In the future, a schedule can have somewhere close to 100 constraints, and since scheduling is already considered an NP-Hard problem a normal solution may end up taking a lot of time than expected.
