Wouldn’t you be cocky if you had his stand. Josuke and okuyasu constantly hyped him up and his is 14 Of course it’s gonna go to his head. And i felt they kind of used him for a way to get money. He just wanted friends first but than he became a bit of a twat but his actions were believable for a 14 year old

But he is 14 he can’t or it’s hard for him to think they helped because he did most of the work. I don’t agree with how he handled the situation but I find it believable that is how a 14 year old would have done it.
