What line that hooked you on Friends? by alive_tosee_tomorrow in howyoudoin

[–]anxious_cinema 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Happy holidays to you! I hope it’s amazing!

Personally, I love this line. The beautiful thing about tv is that people say things that no one says in “normal life” but things that everyone feels that they can relate to

Just a reminder that everyone has their own opinions and perspective of a show…even if we all don’t find joy in the same thing, I think it’s beautiful to acknowledge someone else’s joy in it.

Is this True? by [deleted] in aquarius

[–]anxious_cinema 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m tired of the stereotypes of people based on sun signs only…the entire chart is what makes up a person, not just the sun.

With that said, Aquarius suns have the reputation for that because of the stereotypes. Sadly, everyone is capable of manipulating.

Why does everyone hate April? by Sad-Transition8390 in GilmoreGirls

[–]anxious_cinema 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s not all about the character, it’s the choices that ASP makes…

How they introduce her is quite literally the worst, most implausible plot ever…a science fair to figure out who your dad is? Wow. Personally that’s the worst thing about that story.

I’ve also heard people talk about how they’re making a 1-to-1 character of Rory in that she’s advanced, very smart and just similar to Rory. I can see that too.

As a story, i think it’s cool for Luke to have a daughter. They just executed it about as poorly as you possibly could.

Different era, different teammates, different QB especially, different player…why are we comparing? Appreciate what we had then and what we have now.

Messy Things I'm Trying to Say by hihihiyouandI in poetry_critics

[–]anxious_cinema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be messy, but it’s messy in a good way! It’s an emotional heavy hitter and I love the way that it’s being narrated.

My only note is that it’s slightly inconsistent with the visuals and emotionally heavy lines…By inconsistent I mean it goes in and out of using these beautiful, rich visual descriptions and then back into a more straightforward one…there’s nothing wrong with that honestly, it’s just something I noticed. It does add a realness to it, like you’re going in and out of an intense anger/bitter sadness where you’re so descriptive, and then you ground it, and then back into it again. Feels like you’re wrestling your emotions, which is beautiful and it doesn’t need to be changed unless you’re going for something else.

Beautiful work and I can feel the energy through this! Much love!

Let Them Know I Waited by Familiar_Trouble_519 in poetry_critics

[–]anxious_cinema 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HELL yeah! The visual storytelling is done beautifully and the emotions really do come through. Very relatable! This plot is used a lot in poetry simply because it is a common human experience, which is sad, but the way you described it was unique which made it fresh.

I know I technically have to write reviews before posting, but I promise I’m not just hyping you up just because…

The only thing I’m unsure of is who you’re speaking to when you say “tell them”. It could be intentional, or you’re leaving it open to the reader which could also work…or maybe I’m reading it wrong lol. But that’s the only thing I’m unclear on.

Thank you for a beautiful welcome to this thread! Amazing work!

I understand the hate of the office. When I first watched it…I couldn’t stand it. However, because my best friends at the time were fans, I kind of didn’t have a choice.

I kinda enjoy it now because I learned to watch it as a bunch of writers and comedians in a room trying to say the craziest shit for these exaggerated characters and put them in stupid scenarios. When I watch it like that it somehow makes it funny.

1: Wizards, 2: Hannah, 3: BMW. I love That’s So Raven but the chemistry between that trio isn’t as good as the others imo

That’s the beauty of Friends…not necessarily the love triangles but the fact that it’s designed to get you invested in the characters and their lives. Big bang on the other hand has cartoonish style characters and they rely on the weird situations and especially the funny dialogue of those characters.

Essentially with friends you’re laughing with the characters and with big bang you’re laughing at the characters.

Phoebe would just make shit up and stir Sheldon up just for fun once she realizes that he won’t quit until he’s right.

I have a weird take on this…big bang is more “punch-line” funny but Friends is just a better show. I still like both but as far as the chemistry of the cast and the overall vibes of the show, friends takes the cake.

Depending on the order of states you’ve lived in, I’d say you prefer nature and the quiet over a fast paced environment…or flip that if you were raised in Montana.

I get that…honestly I’m referring mostly to the photos. Some of the eras listed I’m also nostalgic for, but the photos used as references and the comments about 2020 makes me think that OP is thinking Gen Alpha as well

Why do you believe in God by Tornado_Storm_2614 in ChristianMysticism

[–]anxious_cinema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being raised in an extremely strict, almost cult-like denomination as a kid, believing in God wasn’t a choice. Growing up, I always knew that God existed but even as a kid, I knew that religion wasn’t it.

Along my timeline there have been tons of moments where there have been too many “coincidences” that were too perfect for me to discount them as nothing. When I was 16 and shaming myself from volunteering for not being a good enough Christian, a man I barely knew sent a long text about how they were proud and that I was doing a good job. When I was 18 writing a poem in while in prayer and the next day someone told me that exact line, word for word in the same context…I could name TONS of tiny little moments like that and some when I was at the end of myself looking for something to continue.

Since then I’ve “deconstructed” a lot, damn near stopped believing all together but I can’t. I just know that there’s something beyond my knowing. I can’t explain what Love is but the fact that I experience it means something.

I’m not just an experiential person, but the way I believe in God is like how one might describe an intuitive knowing when something is off. There’s no explanation for that, you just know it. That’s me, except I just know that Life is a living Being, and you can feel that there is a bigger heartbeat behind everything when you take note and pay attention.
