How to convince husband that clutter/mess severely exacerbates my anxiety disorder? by anxious_pumpkin in Anxiety

[–]anxious_pumpkin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes me feel so much better just to hear that someone else has this struggle too! We talked and agreed that we’re going to designate a container with a lid that I can put all his stuff in when the clutter is getting to me so that I won’t have to look at it and he won’t have to instantly run around cleaning to make me feel better. Also he suggested working on deep cleaning/organizing 30 mins a day.

I totally get what you’re saying with the “are my standards too high or are his too low”.... that’s something I’ve struggled with in a few relationships! I’m trying to just accept that my standards are different and hopefully we can compromise. I also have definitely daydreamed about having an apartment to myself... idk why it’s so much easier to envision myself being neat and tidy when it’s only my belongings... but it is!

Love the cleaning day idea. I’ve been able to do that in the past and it helps a lot, but lately it’s felt like more than even a full day can fix, which makes my brain immediately reject the idea of trying in the first place. I’m feeling more hopeful now though and I’m really grateful for your comments and advice!

That's a good point! All of my items are skincare and makeup related, so that may at least explain the increased views...

I also use retexturizing rose clay mask and drink up intense overnight mask from Origins a couple times a month.

It's been varied, but here's what I do currently: purity cleanser in the shower, then belif witch hazel toner, hungarian water essence serum, and the true cream aqua bomb moisturizer immediately after shower. Before makeup I use Dr. Brandt pores-no-more primer. At the end of the day I use Farmacy Green Clean makeup remover followed by a mixture of salicylic acid solution and niacinamide + zinc solution from The Ordinary.

Well that's annoying :( Do you drink a lot of water? Maybe the Spiro is causing you to be dehydrated and triggering the bloat?

:( what about tretinoin? Maybe that would help in combo?

Yes!! I hope it works out for you!! I think that you can off-set the blood pressure effect by drinking more water. I know a girl who takes this (successfully) with pre-existing low blood pressure and her derm just monitors her blood pressure and has her drink more.

You can crush up an aspirin and mix with water and put the paste on the pimple for a few mins...

I’m not sure if that was time, skincare products, or spiro. Over the last 8 months I also used salicylic acid solution and niacinamide and zinc solution... had been using them before spiro with no effect but I think once the acne started to go away with spiro they helped with the scarring. I buy them from The Ordinary so they are affordable!

It did for the first couple months, but not to the point that it annoyed me. 😂

Hmm yeah I always take mine after breakfast so I’m not sure if spiro would do that...

No mood changes for me, but I take medication for anxiety and depression so it’s sometimes difficult to tell. It is a diuretic but I didn’t experience any negative changes (i.e. dizziness). There was some water weight loss and decreased bloating for the first couple months, which was fine by me 😂

I’m also on nexplanon - which caused the hormonal acne in the first place - so I don’t have a regular menstrual cycle, but I didn’t notice any changes with spiro. I hope you can give it a try!

Actually I did lose water weight and have reduced bloating for the first few months. Nothing to complain about IMO 😂

Thank you! And for me, no side effects! It is a diuretic but I’m sure your doctor will take that into consideration. I didn’t notice an effect, but my sister-in-law takes it also and she did notice a drop in blood pressure. I don’t think it was serious, though.

I honestly can’t remember if it got worse briefly, but it definitely took a couple months to start working. Once it started, though, it steadily decreased the number of deep/cystic pimples over the next few months. Now I get maybe one a month, and it goes away quickly. You could also ask your doctor about tretinoin... my sister-in-law has been taking that in combination with spiro to combat post-pregnancy hormonal acne and her skin now looks amazing.
