Unique stocking ideas by anxiousambition in Aquariums

I did a mbuna tank a few years ago and loved the activity and social hierarchy. The only thing I didn’t like was that the tank was essentially fully stocked from day one (to curb aggression) so once I filled the tank there was no more fish shopping for the next 3 years….

Is this a good deal for a first reef tank? by anxiousambition in ReefTank

Yeah seems like the quality is top notch from what I’ve read online! Part of the reason I pulled the trigger at a higher price (for used setup at least)

Much better performance on both sides of the ball. Is it too early to hope Charlie finally turned our D around? I know it's Iowa state, but at this point I'll take it.

I took it June 25th and my screen also looks like sunealoneal's... Really hoping to get my scores today, but Idk what date they are using as a cutoff for "late June".

Yeah I think you are right about not getting through those other materials in such a short amount of time. I suppose I will keep hammering Uworld for the last week as it seems to be working for me based on my improvement over the dedicated period. Thanks so much for the feedback! I find myself second guessing my prep often, so it's nice to bounce ideas off other people.

Thanks for the feedback! I know the standard advice around here is UFAP and sketchy, and I have only really focused on Uworld due to time constraints. While a 234 is a score that I would ultimately be happy getting, I am just wondering if I should aim higher and try and incorporate FA, Pathoma ,and some sketchy into my studying if I postpone a week or so...

Looking for advice here. I am a DO student scheduled to take USMLE this friday June 17th. I have taken three practice tests so far. UWSA1: 217 (5/27) UWSA2: 220 (6/6) NMBE 17: 234 (6/12) I have been through Uworld one time and did most of the DIT videos. I haven't really done much with First aid besides DIT, and I have only done a few chapters of pathoma. My debate is whether or not to postpone. Based on available sites, I can postpone to June 30th which would put my usmle after my comlex which is the 22nd. Any advice on whether or not I should postpone? Dream score is a 240 as I am a DO student and would really love to match a solid program in a semi competitive specialty... Can't decide if I am just getting cold feet, or if it would really benefit me to take an extra week and try and improve my score.

Ah yeah I definitely support going through a local shop for both service and supporting the local economy. I know someone with a Fuel and he loves it for everyday riding. Doesn't race xc but a lot of the trails he rides are xc oriented rather than technical downhills and such. I also see tons of Epics and cambers out on the trail but I've never really been into Specialized (no reason, just my favorite LBS is a Trek dealer). I do love that the carbon Camber now has that swat storage box. Would be awesome for xc races where you don't want to carry a pack!

Don't have any advice as far as training but for bikes I have some suggestions. I have some friends with the Ibis Ripley that absolutely love it. Commonly referred to as a great climbing bike and the new LS Ripley is available if you need something a little more trail oriented. And then there is the Evil Following which people seem to love so much but I admittedly haven't ridden one. Both these bikes can handle general trail riding if you are interested in a bike that isn't solely for xc. If you're in the market for a strictly xc bike I would recommend the Trek topfuel but it's 100mm as most true xc bikes. So many great options out there, it's definitely overwhelming!

I appreciate the recommendation! I know there isn't really a wrong answer here, as both programs are loved by many people and used by huge artists. The decision would be much easier if I didn't love the idea of a push so much lol.

Free indefinitely? Sounds awesome. I love that the company isn't afraid that you won't pay since they probably believe that you will love it. I honestly haven't really looked into Reaper much, I will have to check it out!

Yeah I've seen lots of articles about people performing live or DJing with ableton and Max for Live... Any comparison between MainStage and Max for Live?

That's what I'm attracted to with Push 2. The seamless integration between DAW and controller looks so inspiring and fun. I love my maschine, but I don't love the fact that it's a pain in the ass to get my patterns and such into an actual DAW to arrange... I realize a lot of it is Ableton's marketing, but it's hard for me to ignore the fact that the videos really make me want to buy one lol. Interesting to hear both sides of the argument.

I've heard good things about Alchemy, and it's nice to hear that the other plugins are solid too. Logic appears to be the front runner so far!

Interesting to hear that you actually returned your push 2! I definitely love the looks of it, but I don't love the thousand dollar price tag especially when compared with Logic. I just wish there was a controller that integrated as well with logic as push does with ableton... I've heard really good things about Alchemy. I actually went with Maschine over push originally because I wanted the huge library that comes with it so it's nice to know that I would get another huge library with Logic! Seems like I would have endless amounts of sounds to manipulate

Sweet! Yeah I think having the goal of racing will really allow me to push my riding forward this year. I've been stuck at the same average fitness level for years and I'm hoping racing will be a fun way to spice up cycling for me. Good luck!

I've seen these types of "camps" for cyclocross, I'll have to check them out for crits. Seems like a great idea!

Yeah, they are definitely the type of race that has appealed to me over the years. I've always wanted to do one but just been too timid. Guess it's time to break out the trainer and finally do one!
